“Many GBV cases fail not because survivors lack truth, but because evidence is mishandled.”- Fancy Sheila Aromorach @iamfancysheila
During our Brown Bag Mentorship Session at Cavendish University Uganda, Fancy Sheila, the founder of the She Laws Foundation highlighted the urgent gaps within the justice system, noting that each investigator handles 54 cases, far above the UN recommended 12, leading to delays that continue to deny women timely and fair justice.
The session challenged young legal minds to reflect on accountability, survivor-centered justice, and the role we all play in ending GBV.

Spoke at the @WomenProbono Brown Bag Lunch on Wednesday, unpacked the 2025 Ug Police Crime Report and the numbers demand all of our attention.
22 rape convictions. 1,675 cases.
10,000+ girl as victims. One year.
Ending SGBV isn’t the work of advocates alone. It’s yours too.
Our Founder, @iamfancysheila , is speaking at @WomensProbono’s Brownbag Wednesday tomorrow at Cavendish University. The conversation? Sexual & gender-based violence in Uganda — unpacking the 2025 Uganda Police Annual Crime Report and turning data into action.
#EndSexualViolence
Join us tomorrow at Cavendish University for our Brownbag Wednesday on understanding sexual and gender-based violence in Uganda, led by @iamfancysheila, Founder of She Laws Uganda.
We shall be unpacking key insights from the 2025 Uganda Police Annual Crime Report and equipping students with knowledge to challenge and prevent violence.
Every action counts in advancing gender justice and ending this injustice.
