Her hand reached for his arm once he stood before her.
"I know you have, Jace. And I am proud of you."
Her fingers gave his arm a gentle squeeze.
"But loyalty can be regained. You cannot. I would have you remember that whenever you leave these walls."

Her smile grew at his answer, a mother’s warmth briefly overtaking the Queen’s usual composure.
"Better now that my son has found the time to visit me."
She gestured for him to come closer.
"And you? What has kept you so occupied that I must wonder when I shall see you next?"

@SWORNDISHONOUR ~ rose from her seat and cleared her throat, stepping away from him. Whatever remained of the past would have to stay there.
"Now, enough of what was. What business brings you to me today, Ser Criston?"
@SWORNDISHONOUR She raised her chin slightly, her jaw tensing beneath his touch. That time had long passed, and Rhaenyra now carried the weight of duty with her.
"There was a time when my duties were not so great. And perhaps I did hurt you, but I married Daemon for good reason."
The Queen ~
Raising her head at @gutbled’s presence, Rhaenyra met his gaze with a gentle smile, the kind of warmth she reserved only for her sons.
"I do hope you have not come to me with any stubborn ideas today."
There was no warning in her voice, only a mother’s quiet affection.
~ wandering across the courtyard.
"Perhaps I shall find a moment of peace between them. Though I doubt the council will be kind enough to allow it."
A small sigh escaped her, followed by a faint smile.
"And what of you? Will Flea Bottom keep you occupied all day?"
Rhaenyra tilted her head slightly, a faint amusement crossing her features at his question.
"Exciting? Hardly. A few meetings, far too many petitions, and undoubtedly someone waiting to tell me how I ought to rule."
She lifted her goblet for another sip, her gaze briefly ~
+ as his free hand lifted to slide over his beard.
“Anything exciting on your agenda today?” He questioned, the man usually not one for small talk but he found himself engaging in it otherwise.
~ its rim.
"And I would not ask you to neglect your duties for my sake." A faint smile touched her lips. "But if you find yourself with an evening to spare, I would not object to having you here."
Her gaze lingered on him a moment longer.
"Some company is better than others."
Rhaenyra watched him for a moment, her expression softening as she took another sip of wine.
"I did not take it as a complaint, Harwin. You have served this city well, and I know the work is not always pleasant."
She set her goblet down, her fingers resting lightly against ~
+ much more content here. Even if it meant ordering a few people around in the dirty streets below.
“If you wish for more of my presence then I will give as much as I can spare.”
She raised a brow, a faint smile playing upon her lips.
"Then you should come to me more often. I doubt the Red Keep will ever be as loud as Flea Bottom."
She took a sip, her gaze lingering on him.
"And I would rather have your company than hear you complain of exhaustion."
Wine for breakfast? He’d take it.
He let out a small thanks to her gesture and held the goblet between large fingers, blinking tiredly again before a low hum of agreement rumbled in his chest. “Aye. Fleabottom never seems to rest and so neither can I.”
Rhaenyra let her lips curve into a small smirk, a quiet amusement showing in her eyes at his words.
"I cannot say I’m surprised. Lack of sleep, I suppose?"
She poured wine into two goblets, then handed one to him.
"Though I suspect you have other reasons for looking so tired."
He’s still rubbing tiredness from his eyes a bit before squinting up at Rhaenyra approaching him.
“Your grace.” He bowed his head to her in greeting before offering up a sleepy smile.
