Moments ago: A line of hundreds of protestors marched around the Colorado State Capitol in hopes of urging lawmakers to take action on gun violence in schools. https://t.co/7pCLRPUlbz
I was not ok today. I expressed frustration toward a resident trying to admit from the ER. And then, midway, I caught myself and apologized. I told them I was tired and overwhelmed and then we figured out a plan for said patient.
It’s ok to not be ok. It’s also ok to admit it.
Woohoo! Presented my final to my committee for my Master of Science in Clinical Science this morning! Thank you to amazing mentors, @gatoclau71, peers, and mentees for this incredible social and health justice research journey! @michelchonchol@katierizzolo@Neil_R_Powe@HAMFDP
@ASchmaier@MarcBonaca@VMJ_SVM Great question! Because WIQ was a a predefined exploratory analysis, we have not looked analyzed the data by treatment strategy yet.
@ASchmaier@VMJ_SVM really fantastic question @ASchmaier In our study we could not control for non-vascular causes of claudication, but we know anecdotally from patient care that these patients exist, and would agree that these factors almost certainly contribute.
@ASchmaier@MarcBonaca@VMJ_SVM Financial reimbursement is a HUGE barrier, as this results in fewer available sites, physician disincentives to oversee, and higher out of pocket costs to patients. That being said, there are many other factors that make SET logistically difficult for patients
@stanhenkin@VMJ_SVM@VMJ_SVM Agree wholeheartedly with @stanhenkin Have patients who must walk for their jobs. Understand that they can’t wait 12wks to have improvement. Also, these patients don’t have to be counseled to walk b/c they need to for financial survival
.@PressSec Jen Psaki: "There are a lot of Republicans out there giving speeches about how outraged they are about the situation at the border. Not many who are putting forward solutions or steps that we could take. So we're a little tired of the speeches."
@amvc1108 Alex, after 8 years you are still one of the coolest people I know:). You always strive for excellence and do it with a smile on your face. I am so incredibly greatful for the time I spent working with you and all of the other truly fantastic faculty and staff at UofM.
For those of you not able to attend @Cervantes_Lily1's
presentation at the @JHUWelchCenter today I recommend this 🧵.
Incredible story and example of how clinical research can tackle issues of health equity and change policy to improve the lives of patients.
