Brought the cows home today across the new hay seeding.
60 days on cover crops and corn residue is our best year yet. Fairly minimal supplemental feed.
If we can get some winter waterbowls set up, it would be nice to go into January. @Shea_8

What I think is a maximized acre in #ontag
Winter wheat provided cover last winter, grew wheat for milling, straw for livestock bedding this summer, & now growing a cover crop & grazing cows.
Soil is covered, growing living roots, providing extended feed, reducing env footprint

Planning our 2020 grazing cover mix for beef cows following winter wheat this year.
Last year's mix:
25 lbs Oats (rusts)
25 lbs Barley
1 lb Purple Top Turnips
2 lbs Daikon Radish
1 lb Hybrid Brassica
2-3 lbs Crimson Clover
Maybe try Spring Triticale in place of oats, thoughts?
