In preparation for a new ELA Unit, 5th grade students got to participate in a “book tasting” where they enjoyed themed snacks and previewed the novel for this unit of study. Students enjoyed their time at the ‘bakery’ and are excited to start reading soon! #SFMS
13 of our 5th-8th grade singers attended this year's AWAKE Choir Festival at Lakeland University. The choir consisted of 60 local MS singers under the direction of guest clinician, Michelle Klotz. Way to go Falls singers! #SFMS
Seventh grade STEM students in semester 2 are getting into the Engineering Design Process by applying what they learned about electricity/circuits in 5th/6th grade to create a working flashlight. #SFMS
5th grade STEM students are using their coding knowledge to program Cue Bots! They learned about different functions through lessons on https://t.co/50dTox3vuO and then moved on to Wonder Workshop to apply it. #SFMS
Students in Mrs. Gehri's photography club studied photographer Ansel Adams and then spent time photographing landscape shots around the school. The club played with varying contrasts and lighting to bring depth to their photos. #SFMS
8th grade STEM students completed Project Mini-Grill, a SFMS component of Project Grill at the high school. Thanks to our sponsors:Bemis Manufacturing, HUI, and Project Grill Board for their support! Students learned about metal work as part of the STEM manufacturing class #SFMS
Mrs. Powers and Mrs. Gehri analyzed their most recent data at weekly professional learning community or PLC time. They then collaborated on best instructional strategies and small group supports they would implement in response to the students mathematical needs. #SFMS
