Sheboygan Legion offers it’s condolences to Dale Mintzlaff’s family along w/ Coach Lesandri and the staff and players of Marinette Legion. One of the highlights of our annual 4th of July trip to Marinette was Dale greeting us and the conversation that followed. Great baseball man
De Pere Legion Baseball is saddened to hear of the passing of longtime Marinette business manager Dale Minzlaff. He was a tremendous guy who leaves big shoes to fill. Our sympathy is with Sheila and the family, as well as his many friends and the Marinette baseball community.
This type of stuff doesn’t happen in legion. That’s because the focus is the team. If this young man was focused on his team he would have hustled around the bases to join his teammates in celebration. If this were to happen in legion, he wouldn’t have made it around the base
In the interests of the health and safety of our participants and all individuals who come into contact with legion baseball, The American Legion Department of Wisconsin has decided to cancel the 2020 Wisconsin American Legion baseball season.
Just to clarify for our players and parents, the National Tournaments were cancelled. As @AppLegBB and others have pointed out, this does not impact Wisconsin other than the fact that the state champion/runner up won’t be going to Nationals like we did in 2018...
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 American Legion World Series and all 8 regional tournaments have been canceled. The awarding of American Legion Baseball scholarships for 2020 have also been suspended.

@DePereLegion I would add the 2013 game Sheboygan vs. @ECALB. We lost but it was back and forth and the game decided on a 3 run homer on a 3-0 pitch by the EC shortstop.
Too bad there isn't a Wisconsin Legion Baseball Classic channel. I would be in front of the tube for days. Memorable state games:
* - 1993 Stevens Point vs. Marinette
* - 1994 Eau Claire vs. Appleton
* - 1995 Wisconsin Rapids vs. Appleton
* - 1997 GB Shockers vs. Wausau
