@RmShey literally crazy omg they need to be locked up somewhere, wtf? what I was referring to is if someone had said “Bucky” instead of Seb. it sucks to see that about your fav, but to compare that to real life people like its just as bad is bizarre to me.
@RmShey Oh ok! I misunderstood. I don’t think that Sebs interview was taken out of context, every sane person knows it was a joke. It was just bad and people are upset. AM got his blow back for the things you listed, and some of it was deserved, like Seb’s. death threats is insane tho
@RmShey ik you want to wrap it up, but I think that its important that we know that saying mean things about a fictional character =/= saying mean things about a real person based on their race. If you’re only bringing up these points to make Sebastian look better in comparison…oh boy
@pressbuckys Im so irritated that everyone found this post AFTER yall deleted the racist ass conversation y’all were having in the replies. No wonder no one’s coming at yall as hard as they should be
@sunsetsambucky Thank youuu!!!! I also think reducing this conversation to a fan war is so dumb at the end of the day. Mind you, that thread and the replies are why the “joke” needed to be called out in the first place! It’s so gross the way they start talking about the black community
@wienrsoldier01@asawa_ni_bucky Please correct me if I’m wrong! I think we’re saying the same thing, but I don’t necessarily believe that people making jokes about a fictional character dying in a movie is on par with Sebastian’s joke inviting people to be openly racist to Anthony. You seem to think that it is.
@cleo2realz@pressbuckys@josswrlds Thank you! That, and he’s 100% correct in saying that people should be able to look at men, Sam Wilson in this case, and see gentleness and sensitivity without having to make it make sense to themselves by viewing them through a LGBTQIA+ lens.
The #he is Anthony Mackie. And what he said wasn’t homophobic at all. Seb’s joke wasn’t racist, but it was inappropriate to make considering the current climate of the MCU. Calling AM homophobic is such a disservice to everything he’s done for the black queer community.
@dementdCanadian You probably should have put your two cents on a different thread then, because the whole reason behind them not liking Anthony is purely due to a literary deficiency on their end. Not using his name is strange af too. Very dehumanizing.
@pressbuckys And Sebastian Stan’s black fans, who are likely also taking part in the calling out of the bad joke. And because of these things, you’re misrepresenting quotes from interviews and asking twitter why Anthony Mackie isn’t getting MORE hate?
@pressbuckys So you’ve somehow managed to make people calling out Sebastian’s bad joke- poorly timed because of the racism Anthony Mackie (#he or #him to you which is so ironic rn I can’t find the words) has been facing since he took on the Cap mantle, about … stucky?
@pressbuckys Which communities? And the only “death threats” I’ve personally seen are about Bucky dying in doomsday, which I don’t consider alongside a real life person being targeted by racists.
And I peeped the part you didn’t acknowledge, but we can ignore it together lmao
@dementdCanadian I’m probably in the minority with this, but I don’t look to celebrities for my news. For me, the politicians that I vote for are supposed to do that, but I get that not everyone thinks that way. Bottom line is, yall are weird, and Sebastian’s joke was tone deaf.
@dementdCanadian And to clarify, in that article where he said Sambucky isn’t canon (because it’s not), he was saying that Sam Wilson can be a soft and gentle guy without being gay. Because we all know how the media can portray black men, it was actually an insightful point to make.
