The way some Chelsea fans still talk down Enzo Fernandez is one of the clearest signs this fanbase has been conditioned.

This is a 25-year-old World Cup winner who can control tempo, break lines, carry through pressure, win duels, and drive a midfield. That is not a luxury profile. That is a cornerstone profile. And instead of protecting that, a section of this support has spent the summer helping the ownership treat him like a priced asset with a deadline.

They reduced him to “he wants to leave.”
They reduced him to wages.
They reduced him to “bigger clubs.”

They cheered the idea of him walking out while BlueCo floated £120m, attached terms, then quietly reopened the door the moment City came back because “the money is right.”

That is not criticism of a player. That is fans doing the model’s work for it.

Enzo has flaws. Every elite midfielder does. What he does not have is a club structure that treats him as irreplaceable. Jackson just showed you the template: buy young, extract the years, sell at the point the books look cleanest. If you think Enzo is exempt from that logic, you have not been paying attention.
