Go Habs Go!
Thank you, Councillor Tierney, for taking the time to attend and participate in the East District community consultation. Your engagement and willingness to listen directly to residents and partners is appreciated. These conversations help us better understand community needs.
I appreciated the opportunity to attend the recent community consultation with the Ottawa Police Service as they look ahead to a revitalized approach to community policing and the District Model.
These conversations are important. Hearing directly from community partners and those on the ground helps shape what neighbourhood policing should look like, now and into the future.
It was good to be there alongside Council colleagues Councillor Carr, Councillor @rawlsonking, Councillor Dudas, and Councillor @Jessica_Ottawa.
When I had the opportunity to speak, I shared some of the work I’ve been doing through the @FCM_online , including ongoing discussions with the federal government around bail reform. There was strong engagement on that point, reinforcing how closely local safety concerns are tied to national policy decisions.
Building safer communities takes coordination, honesty, and follow-through. Thank you to @OttawaPolice for bringing people together and creating space for this important dialogue.
