It's something rarer: a genuine, unresolved anomaly in stellar chemistry that's sat unexplained for over 60 years.

Same story with technetium, another element with no long-term stable isotopes, showing up somewhere it has no business surviving.

This is an old star that appears to be actively cooking new ones.
