RIP Martin Williams, most excellent and conscientious Ward Councillor. He put in the effort and time to build relationships in City Power and Joburg Water, so that when he raised issues, they were attended to. He was available to his constituents at all times. We miss him.

Saddened by the death of former editor Martin Williams. We met on a press junket to Italy, where he took me on a vividly memorable 'little jog' through Verona at dawn. An hour and a half later I was wrecked and sobbing but exhilarated. He ran 23 Comrades, including a brace of silvers. Later he gave my Jaundiced Eye column a home on @TheCitizen_News when it was axed by a pissed-off IOL editor. A fine man and I shall miss him.
