Federal authorities arrested a special forces soldier involved in the capture of Nicolas Maduro, accused of pocketing more than $400,000 by betting on his removal from office.
Investigators said the soldier placed over $33,000 in wagers on prediction market Polymarket just hours before Donald Trump announced Maduro’s capture in January.
