[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@tirumuru_87 He actually coached Erigaisi Arjun early on! He famously passed the torch to another coach so Arjun could make the leap from prodigy to Super GM. That selfless move says everything about him, and their bond is still strong today. 🤝♟️

Super tough day against Uzbekistan. Indian Open team’s first loss in any team event since 2022.

Starting from the 2024 Olympiad, we’ve had a ritual of picking our Player of the Day. Yesterday, it was unanimous: Nihal.
The message was: Whilst results do matter, the effort and process matter more. Results don’t always convey the full story. It doesn’t show the attitude behind.

Nihal played his heart and soul out. He could have played it safe, stayed solid, and likely, blameless. But he went for it from the word go, despite having Black. It was only because of his incredible fight that the team got into its best chance to beat Uzbekistan after 4 draws between the two powerhouse teams.

Every great result, including our 2024 Olympiad win came on the back of years of preparation coupled with earlier struggles and setbacks. Our result yesterday was a similar stepping stone towards some great result in the future.

The result didn’t go our way yesterday. But I am sure Nihal will win us many medals in both the near, and distant future. 🇮🇳❤️

@Ankiii_i Sindarov and Gukesh on almost same board 👀 (but not facing each other)

[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@agadmator As expected

[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@chess24com Finally a win on board 1 for India

[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@MaxChess_ He is not arrogant for sure but very aggressive compared to other players. He tries to create imbalances in equal middle game to produce result, but in that process so many games don’t go his way.

[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@Ankiii_i Still no wins on board 1 this time😢

[Ankita @Ankiii_i]

FIDE Olympiad Gukesh is my favourite Gukesh

[Sheetal Bijale @Sheetal_110]

@ChessbaseIndia @NihalSarin @DGukesh What's going on with Board 1? Still no wins. In 2022 and 2024, Gukesh was essentially carrying those matches right to the finish line.

@mahajanrohan99 We need someone like @Prithvi10_ in chess as well.

Manifesting Gukesh back to this version of himself again.

The most hyped and celebrated game since Magnus game 6 win over Nepo in their WC match. The commentary, social media hype, other players reaction - the buzz around this game and social media content afterwards was peak.
