A New Hope Awakens in #Bengal:
As @SuvenduWB took oath today and Bengal got its first-ever @BJP4Bengal Chief Minister, this moment came after enormous sacrifice and unwavering determination from the party leadership, workers and its voters. For decades, the people of Bengal especially its daughters, sisters and the Hindu community have endured unspeakable atrocities and a reign of fear that no civilized society should tolerate. Political violence became normalized after CPIM & later TMC assumed power with families torn apart, women targeted and countless lives lost simply for daring to oppose the establishment or uphold their beliefs. BJP workers and supporters in particular, faced systematic targeting. Party leaders have spoken of hundreds of karyakarta lives lost and thousands of women voters raped & killed to this targeted violence since 2011. Many brave souls paid the ultimate price for their conviction. These were not just statistics, they were fathers, sons, brothers, mothers, sisters and idealists who dreamed of a better Bengal. Their sacrifice cannot be forgotten.
To many, this election might appear as “just another” political contest. For traditional BJP supporters and the larger Sangh Parivar, it has always been far more, a long-cherished dream project after decades of patient waiting, relentless groundwork and immense personal cost. The wait tested resilience, but it also strengthened resolve. Bengal is not ordinary land. This is the sacred soil that gave the world Swami Vivekananda’s thunderous call to strength and service, Sri Aurobindo’s vision of Hindutva nationalism, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s pure devotion and Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the Jan Sangh, who stood as a bulwark against division and laid the ideological foundations of modern Hindu nationalism.
Bengal was the epicenter of the Hindu Renaissance and a cradle of cultural and spiritual awakening for India. It deserved governance rooted in the ideals of these stalwarts - courage without aggression, dharma without dogma and development with cultural pride. For too long, that soul seemed eclipsed. This moment feels like a homecoming.
I have been fortunate in my lifetime to witness history unfold with the abrogation of Article 370 ending a long constitutional anomaly, the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya fulfilling a civilizational aspiration and now, this significant shift in Bengal. Each event carries profound meaning, restoring pride and justice after prolonged struggles.
To every voter in Bengal across communities, castes and backgrounds who chose hope over fear, change over continuity and the future over the past, Thank you. Your courage in the face of intimidation has written a new chapter. This victory belongs to the silent sufferers, the displaced families, the women who sought safety and every karyakarta who worked tirelessly without expectation of reward.
May Maa Kali, the fierce protector and embodiment of Shakti bestow her blessings upon Bengal and all of us. May she destroy the forces of adharma, grant strength to rebuild and guide this land back to its glory as a beacon of knowledge, devotion and fearless nationalism.
Bharat Mata ki Jai. Vande Mataram. With deepest gratitude and unwavering hope. 🙏🏼
