Carers will tell you caring doesn't stop when someone is in hospital. In fact, it can be more intense.
This rule is yet another reason why the Carer's Allowance system must be completely overhauled 🗑️

This report has, for the first time, got some of this data!
Some of this is shocking: 20% of all kids in secure settings come from only SIX SCHOOLS!
And 5% come from THE SAME SCHOOL!
I have been waiting a loong time for some of this data. My fellow data nerds: this @ChildrensComm report is fascinating.
Children in prison often know each other from before. But this is a group of only ~500 kids across England and Wales. How can such a small number be connected?
Today I had the opportunity to share the impacts of Child Sexual Abuse and Technology Assisted #CSA, for the development of professional training. TACSA is an aspect of my abuse I mentioned but chose not to focus on in my book #TheFlyingChildStory. Today I found a way to articulate why it’s particularly challenging for me.
As a survivor, when our abuse is filmed or photographed, it doesn’t stop with one perpetrator. These images are shared. One perpetrator becomes another. And another. The abuse continues indefinitely and the worst thing about it is that we might never know where or who or how far it reaches. My abuse was pre-internet, but to me it makes little difference because the images and videos might have been uploaded online. The chances are I will never know.
The meeting today was challenging because it’s painful to look back. It’s also particularly difficult to explore the shocking responses from some professionals I met along the way.
However, it was a meeting that left me with hope. Tonight I reflect on how many people, including my own organisation, The Flying Child CIC, are fighting to shift public attitudes to victim/survivors. Together, we are making a tangible difference. I really do believe this. There are many ways in which we can continue to improve the societal response to survivors of CSA - and this feels hopeful 🌸

On 3rd March there will be a short debate in the House of Commons at close of business.
The subject is CofE Safeguarding.
If you could encourage your MP to be present in the Chamber to show concern, it would be very helpful.
