Hiyo matatu strike is not for matatu owners or drivers, it's for you matatu users. Fuel prices zikipanda wanaongeza fare. At the end of the day ni sisi users tunaumia. So wewe unafanya nini stage??
When two heads of state meet to discuss how to whip and discipline citizens demanding accountability, we’ve crossed from democracy into dictatorship. President Suluhu’s call for President Ruto to join her in suppressing Gen Zs is a conspiracy against constitutional rights.
The audacity to frame calls for good governance as notorious behaviour that must be tamed is an insult to every freedom our constitutions guarantee. Democracy is anchored on the fundamental pillars of the rule of law, human rights and accountable leadership. These aren’t negotiable.
If exercising our constitutional right to protest makes us deserving of canes and whips then our leaders have forgotten who they serve. We will not be silenced. We will not be beaten into submission. The Constitution is our shield and defender and not the whims of those who fear accountability.
"Beauty with brains" isn’t a compliment, it’s a backhanded stereotype.
It assumes intelligence is rare in women but default in men. No one says ‘handsome with brains’. Bcoz a man’s intelligence is expected. When a woman has both, you call it exceptional. It’s not. It’s normal.✌️
I like work.
Not just because work is a source of income.
I like that work allows me to put my mind to great use & that thru it, I can impact others. Plus being busy keeps me out of trouble.
I am thankful that I am physically & intellectually able to work, and to enjoy it.
I understand the desire to give our children a better life than the one we had. Many of us worked hard, did difficult jobs, and hustled in ways we hope our children will never have to.
But while we try to remove the hardship, we must not remove the values that shaped us.
Things like discipline, the sense of responsibility, the willingness to work hard, the humility to start small and many more.
If we protect them from every struggle without teaching them these things, we may unintentionally raise children who are comfortable but unprepared.
Give them better opportunities, yes. But also give them the character that helped you get where you are.
Comfort without values can easily turn into laziness and that is not the legacy any parent hopes to leave.
Once I read this thing where a woman said that she will not read any books on productivity, time management, habits or how to live the best life if they're written by men because they were able to manage that time or build those life changing habits because they HAD A WIFE. Instead, this person said they would only read female-authored books on that subject--moms or wives that did the laundry, worked, and still got stuff done. I think about that a lot.
