We were honored to welcome the SRSG, Anita Kiki Gbeho whose visit underscored the power of collective action and the importance of blood donation in supporting patients in need and communities across #SouthSudan.

The inaugural panel explored how design thinking and innovation in schools and universities can empower young people to develop practical solutions to #SouthSudan’s challenges.

For the first time since 2010, the number of people living in multidimensional poverty has increased.

Our latest Global Multidimensional Poverty Index, published today, shows 1.2 billion people living in multidimensional poverty. More than half are children.

Yet 33 countries have halved poverty in under 15 years.

Progress is possible. This is no time to retreat.

Poverty is about more than how much money someone earns.

It’s being hungry. Living without electricity. A child missing school.

A good, dependable job can help change that. It can bring stability, open up choices and give people the chance to plan for the future.

Everyone deserves that chance.

#SouthSudan has inaugurated its 1st Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) National Steering Committee to guide the development of its first Biodiversity Finance Plan. Chaired by @SouthSudanGov, the Committee will strengthen coordination & sustainable financing for biodiversity conservation!

Through the UNDP-led BIOFIN & with funding from the @GEF, we are supporting 🇸🇸 in identifying sustainable financing solutions for biodiversity conservation & improving the effective use of available resources.

UNDP 🇸🇸 Representative @MohamedAbchir paid a courtesy visit to Caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Amb. #UNDP handed over ICT equipment to the Ministry of Trade and Industry through the Job Creation through Youth and Women-led Micro and Small Enterprises (JMSE) project, supporting more efficient service delivery, better data management, and enhanced institutional capacity.

Agriculture is the backbone of #SouthSudan’s economy, providing the primary livelihood for over 80% of households, while the country possesses approximately 30 million hectares of arable land. Building on this potential, the @IFAD funded, 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 is investing in rural producer groups to strengthen productivity, improve access to markets & financial services & build rural enterprise capacity.
