In UP's Mathura, five gurukul students climb in to clean water tank; 4 dead

At a Gurukul in UP's Mathura, students were asked to clean the foul-smelling water tank. A boy climbed in. He didn’t come out. Four others went down after him to pull him out. All five collapsed, apparently from toxic gas trapped inside. They were eventually rescued and rushed to hospital. Four were declared dead. The fifth, Rudraksh, survived and is under treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Manu Katare, Vishu Sharma, Aryan Pandey and Devansh Sharma, aged roughly 16 to 20. About 100 students live at the gurukul, which is run by Ashish Kumar Sharma who fled from the premises after the incident.

Bihar has no shortage of issues waiting to be raised - floods, unemployment, poor infrastructure, crime, healthcare, education and basic civic services.

But apparently, one of the most pressing concerns demanding the attention of an MLA today is this:

**Why isn’t the national flag being hoisted 24/7 at Police Headquarters?**

Not the floods.
Not the jobs.
Not the roads and infrastructure.
Not crime.
Not the everyday problems of Buxar.

The flag deserves respect. But the question is one of **priorities**.

Does a highly educated, professionally accomplished politician automatically bring a different kind of politics?

Or can even an educated politician get absorbed into the same political ecosystem - where symbolism gets more attention than the problems people actually live with?

What's concerning is the MLA is taking pride in it and is highlighting it as his achievement.

**Education may change the person.
But does it necessarily change the politics?**

That is the question worth asking.
