I would argue education is not data or curriculum driven and not even student driven. Education is relationship driven. Teachers thrive w/ positive admin relationships & students thrive w/ positive teacher relationships. Relationships drive education.

Nothing diminishes hope faster than focusing on things you can’t control. The key is focusing on things that you and your teammates can directly influence...like effective instruction, assessment, intervention, and extension.
Biggest takeaway from @SSchuhl breakout was giving students data and discuss observations BEFORE handing them their own assessments/work back! It’ll make them more engaged in reviewing their own strengths and weaknesses of the assessment. @SolutionTree#atPLC

I love students... and I always will. But the most important lesson I learned as an administrator... was that my primary job was to support the staff.
(And this support allows the teachers to care about the kids more effectively.)
