6. Self-Awareness
World-class coaches know:
• What they suck at
• What they're good at
• Who they work best with
• Who they should avoid working with
Self-awareness helps them be hyper-effective.
COACHES: Treat your athletes with respect, dignity, and empathy even when they do not return the favor, or they act immature, or they cost you a win. Be the adult. Be the positive leader. Be the example. Be one of the reasons they become a good adult one day!!!
COACHES - The title "Coach” is a privilege. You have both a great opportunity and responsibility. Don't ever take it for granted. With great power comes great responsibility. You have an amazing opportunity to influence so many people. Be a positive leader. Stay encouraged.
Y’all not CHEERING for your teammates is weird especially if they going off it’s giving HATERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Like how you not happy she helping us win don’t matter if you in or not doing good she is. get that selfishness and hate up out ya hear celebrate other ppl it’s ok promise
🚨COACHES: Stop taking kids out for every single mistake; let them play through some mistakes. When you do sub, don’t just throw them on the end of the bench, acknowledge the mistake & TEACH! Every mistake is a teaching moment! Less meaningless yelling, more meaningful teaching!
I coached collegiate 🏀 for years
I won an overall Championship and have nearly a .700 win percentage
Basketball has taken me to 4 states, multiple cities, and has created lifelong bonds. But I haven’t done it all right by a long shot.
