@Seanfrank That's the part small shops should watch. An agent can only compare what's in the product data. Leave out the size or count and you're not even in the comparison.
@CreateWPSite Point 2 is the one most small shops skip. Dimensions plus a reference ("fits a standard 8x10 frame") answer the question the photo can't.
@MenachemAni The quiet disapprovals are the worst because the storefront looks fine. For small shops it's usually supplier data pasted in with gaps: no GTIN, no material, a size in different units than the site.
@Medieval_Shop Respect for sharing that. Blade thickness is one of those specs a photo can't show. Listing it in mm next to overall length and weight usually heads off exactly that surprise.
Before: "Cozy Throw Blanket - Grey"
After: "Grey Knit Throw Blanket, 50 x 60 in, 100% Cotton, Machine Washable"
Same blanket. The second title answers size, material and care before anyone clicks.
If the supplier sheet doesn't say cotton, we flag it. We don't guess.
@MenachemAni Same lesson for small shops with no ad budget. "Vase - White - L" gives Google nothing to match. Material, size, and use in the title do the targeting for free, as long as the specs are real and not guessed.
@carp_or_die@smcroasters Smart move. Even better if the first lines are the facts people check before buying (size, material, what's in the box) and the story comes after.
@FoxEcomOfficial Agreed. What helps most is having the tool mark anything it couldn't confirm from the supplier sheet. Then the review takes minutes instead of rereading every line.
This week for small shops:
1. Shopify now links stores to AI agents that update listings.
2. Shopify, Stripe and Walmart joined a new standard for AI shopping agents.
3. Amazon is blocking outside AI shoppers.
Agents read product data literally. No size or material? Skipped.
@ecomstoregalaxy Weak descriptions are usually missing facts, not missing adjectives. Size, material, and what's in the box answer the questions that otherwise turn into returns.
@EffectiveAppsHQ D. And the slow part usually isn't the writing, it's tracking down the missing details (dimensions, materials, care) from supplier sheets. Any automation there should flag gaps, not fill them in.
Before: "Ceramic Vase - White - Large"
After: "Matte White Ceramic Vase, 12" Tall, for Dried or Fresh Stems"
The second title covers what shoppers actually search for: material, finish, size, and use.
If your supplier sheet doesn't list the height, don't guess. Ask, then add it.
