We are not to turn inward to lick our own wounds, but outward with open arms to help heal the wounds of the world—a world that hates us

Think of Jesus’ open arms while dying a humiliating, bloody and painful death—asking the Father to “forgive them, for they know not what they do.” That is what we are called to do. To be like Jesus

Jesus didn’t complain at His trial. He was either telling the truth or remaining silent. He died so that those who killed Him could have eternal life. He loved them that much

I forget this sometimes too, but we cannot make ourselves into victims. If we fall into that trap, we must confess, repent and go out and love a world we know will not love us back

Being Catholic isn’t supposed to be a cakewalk. It’s not for the faint of heart. It is for spiritual warriors
