@ShonaMurray_@colinivan A very powerful and thought provoking article and in my opinion spot on. The silence of the world is deafening as they let Israel continue hour after hour .
@EbunJoseph1 This is very, very far from okay. It is beyond evil and sick. Also remembering the women and girls of Afghanistan who have had all human rights taken from therm. The world’s silence is deafening.
Over 14 million people have been forced from their homes in Sudan, creating the world’s largest displacement crisis & 25 million face acute hunger.
The UN warns of war crimes, mass rape & ethnic cleansing.
The world cannot look away. Urgent aid & diplomatic action are needed.
@ShonaMurray_ Israel do as they please and give world leaders two fingers . America and most other world leaders accept it which is sickening. As they say “All you need for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing’. It is sickening.
Another Palestinian journalist killed in Israeli bombing. Hassan Hamad was 20. He got threatening messages like this:’Listen, If you continue spreading lies about Israel, we'll come for you next and turn your family into [...] This is your last warning’

The Taliban has now banned women's bare faces and voices in public 'to promote virtue'.
I've no words for that but let us use our voices to stand with the women of Afghanistan.

What an incredibly uplifting story.
19 young Afghan women have just arrived in Edinburgh to complete their medical degrees.
They'd lived in fear for their lives ever since the Taliban took power.

@ShonaMurray_ And the worlds leaders allow it to continue day after day after day. We are witnessing such double standards as so many of the world’s leaders turn a blind eye and allow this to continue.
I entered the UK with no school certificate but an immigration stamp...
More than 20 years ago, I arrived in the UK as a teenager with no family support, not much formal education, and only $100.
I started studying English and then A-levels at Colleges. When I asked a tutor to help me with Cambridge University interview, he said:
"You are an Afghan refugee, not white, and not privately educated to go to Cambridge."
A few years later...
Studying at Cambridge and Harvard, I achieved my dream of becoming an NHS doctor and founder of a global humanitarian non-profit Teleheal, and also an innovative mental health service Arian Wellbeing to help everyone in need including hard to reach populations.
It's a lifetime of hardships and rejections that have taught me most in life.
Many young people's dreams have been ended by their school grades today.
My message to them or anyone else is - don't let grades or other people's opinions define who you are. Always believe in yourself and your dreams.
Please consider sharing this message with anyone who might need to hear this today.
Love an aul morning cycle when it's nice and quiet and most people are still in bed.
Ye just can't beat getting up and out early. It sets you up for the day with that happy hormone boost from exercise, daylight and being in nature 💚
