My favorite idea from Professor Hinton is about government guiding how AI is used in society. He said technology is an accelerator of progress but regulation is the steering wheel for how it’s used. “We should be working very very hard so AI is good and works for us.” @NCSLorg

We are learning about AI from Nobel prize winner Geoffrey Hinton who said; Just like children you have to train AI based on good behavior and give it feedback. “You want to build something that is intrinsically good,” he said at @NCSLorg #NCSL2026
