This is a huge deal. Starting in 2028, Virginian workers will be eligible for up to 12 weeks of paid leave - and it’s a benefit that’s not tied to a specific employer. Very grateful to @BrianaSewellVA and @JenniferBoysko along with other GA members for leading the way on this.
ALL Virginians will now have access to 12 weeks of paid leave when caring for a new baby or sick loved one. This makes life better for millions of people who will no longer have to lose out on months of pay during life's best and worst moments
Huge thanks to patrons @JenniferBoysko & @BrianaSewellVA and @SenLouiseLucas@ssurovell@SenatorLocke@SpeakerDonScott@DelegateTorian and all legislative supporters, and finally @SpanbergerForVA for signing this landmark measure into law!
