Today marks one year since Scottish teaching unions submitted their pay claim for 22-23, which remains unsettled. Scottish Government and COSLA have dragged their feet while the cost of living has continued to soar. Scotland's teachers deserve a fair pay rise #PayAttention
Today, marks one whole year since we submitted our pay claim. EIS Office Bearers & representatives delivered Birthday cards to St Andrew's House & COSLA HQ this afternoon.
Avoiding further strike action is down to the Scottish Government & COSLA.
While the Salaries Committee very much shares the First Minister's 'hope' that a resolution to the pay dispute can be reached 'soon', we would also point out that the ability to settle the dispute is very much within the FM's power

Our teaching conditions are our pupils' learning conditions. You cannot put children first if you put teachers last. It's time for the Scottish Government and COSLA to table a fair offer and end this dispute. #EISStrike
For anyone who missed it or thought they were hearing things watching ‘Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg’ on 22 January, here’s a quick recap and correction! #PayAttention#EISStrike
We've had absolutely no proposals from SG & COSLA, – merely the same old tired lines & an unreasonable insistence that all of the 'compromise' must come from Scotland's teachers

FM is skirting around the fact that inflation peaking at 14% has wiped out years of pay settlements at a single stroke & fails to acknowledge experienced teachers at top of the pay scale are paid less than in many other OECD countries, including England

The EIS Executive met today & agreed a programme of additional strike action that will include 2 days of national strike action in all schools & sectors on 28 Feb & 1 March, followed by a rolling programme of strikes for 20 days between 13 Mar & 21 April

Trade unions remain committed to reaching a fair, negotiated pay settlement for Scotland's teaching professionals. In the absence of any new offer, the planned strike action for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week will proceed as scheduled. #PayAttention

Six months ago, teachers were offered a 5% pay settlement that equates to a record real-terms pay cut. Since then, there has been only one "revised" offer, averaging 5.07%.
@scotgov and @COSLA must #PayAttention and show more urgency to end this dispute.

SG & COSLA have stubbornly failed to take advantage of the opportunities the EIS has put forward to help settle this dispute. Reheating old offers & repeating tired spin is not going to resolve this dispute or end the planned strike action.

If the Scottish Government & COSLA are truly serious about reaching a pay settlement with Scotland's teachers – and halting industrial action in our schools – they must come back with a much more credible, fair, undifferentiated & substantially improved pay offer. #PayAttention
#EqualPayDay marks the day in the year where women, on average, stop earning relative to men because of the gender pay gap (which is over 10% in Scotland). The Fawcett Society calculated this year’s Equal Pay Day fell on the 20th November.
There is still time to stop the national teacher strike over pay in Scotland on Thursday – but an improved pay offer needs to be delivered by 4.30pm tomorrow, says @EISUnion
