If the AFL executives watch that live and don't think it deserves a standalone Friday night game then they clearly have other interests at heart @AFL#aflcrowspower
Just want to give a massive shout out and a big thanks to @Sammy__Edmund for his crypto advice. Thanks to him I’ve been able to secure myself a 1987 Ford XF! What a beauty. #dothework
Hate that this butters tribunal issue has taken the spotlight away from the quality of the actual umpiring in that game itself
Some legitimately disgraceful umpiring seems to be lost amongst the rest of it
In principle, I’m comfortable with the proposed changes to the father–son rule.
My issue is with the timing and the fact there’s a fairer, more logical alternative available.
These changes should be introduced in three years, when Tasmania enters the competition. That would give clubs clarity and avoid pulling the rug out mid-cycle. The AFL has known for years that Carlton and Essendon have been preparing for prospects like Walker and Bewick. Changing the rules now, after that long lead time, is fundamentally unfair.
There’s also a clear perception problem. The person driving these changes previously oversaw one of the most successful father–son pipelines in AFL history. Having benefited from that system, it’s hard to ignore how this decision now impacts other clubs particularly when it’s widely acknowledged that the timing isn’t equitable.
This isn’t about resisting reform. It’s about implementing change in a way that is transparent, consistent, and fair to all clubs. Right now, the process falls short of that standard!

I don’t love that the Super Bowl starts at 10:30 in the morning.
I’m still going to watch it.
Stop letting corporate losers dictate our game. The people in charge are custodians, not gods.
Teams that played OR v teams that didn’t in R1 are 9-2

A fired up Justin Longmuir not happy about playing an Opening Round team for the third straight year.
"Anyone who's been around football would realise it's an advantage, we should all start the season the same way, there should be no competitive advantage for any team playing a game before they play another team, it just makes so much sense to people in the industry, and we've just got it wrong."
This is why AFL Origin will fail - and yet the failure will be used as 'proof' the idea can't work, which is wrong. Do it properly, or don't do it at all, is what I and many others have always said. This ain't it.
Nine teams having more games than the @brisbanelions on Thursday and Friday Nights in the first 15 rounds is a bit disrespectful to the back-to-back champs. And they get the bonus of heading to the Barossa Valley for GR.
