IRAN PAUSES RETALIATORY STRIKES

Iran said it has suspended retaliatory attacks after the U.S. halted its own strikes for a second consecutive night.

An Iranian military spokesman warned that any renewed U.S. attacks would broaden the conflict, saying the fighting has already extended to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

BREAKING: Trump has cancelled plans to sharply escalate the war on Iran over concerns that Iranian attacks could dangerously drain the Pentagon's already diminished stockpile of Patriot antimissile interceptors and other air defense munitions in the Middle East close to zero, per NYT.

The Pentagon has used more than 1,200 Patriot interceptors in the war at more than $4M each, with cheap Iranian drones and ballistic missiles depleting the US inventory. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine privately cautioned that resuming major combat operations would fully deplete interceptors available to US Central Command.

A senior US official adds that continued strikes have had "the opposite effect of what is intended, keeping Iran cohesive and allowing Iranian leaders to focus attention on an external threat."

IRAN CLAIMS MAJOR U.S. AIRCRAFT LOSSES

Iran’s IRGC claimed it destroyed 11 U.S. fighter jets and helicopters at regional military bases over the past 15 days.

Tehran also said additional aircraft, including an F-15, P-8, C-17 and refuelling planes, were destroyed, and claimed U.S. fatalities exceeded 200. These claims have not been independently verified.

BREAKING: Yemen's Houthis announce in a new statement they have directly struck Aramco oil facilities in Jizan and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia with dozens of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, all successfully achieving their objectives.

This is the first Houthi strike on Aramco facilities in both Jizan and Yanbu in more than 4 years.

The most likely targets in Yanbu were Aramco's SAMREF and YASREF oil refineries, with a combined total of 800,000 barrels of crude a day, or 1,200,000 adding the Jizan refinery.
