You can buy a box of 1000 down commercial road shopfitters for £14.50 + vat. (And I’m sure the supermarkets buy them 10 times cheaper than what I can because of the amount they order)

I thought the whole idea of the 5p bag charge was to stop being wasting plastic bags and re-using them. I bet they’re making a lovely profit on them now.

Electricity standing charges were around 15p a day 8 years ago (2016) annual cost £55.
June 2023 - 43p - £157
Late 2023 - 56p - £204
April 2024 - 67p - £245

This is a 500% increase!! 🤬
And 50% over the past year.
You are supposed to be protecting us against profiteering . You are not doing your job are you? Get a grip. 😡

EXACTLY 4 years ago today, the Express mocked the notion that roaming charges for UK travellers to the EU would return after Brexit.

Today, they're bleating that some tourists have clocked up over £1,000 in roaming fees.
