They had several cameras filming this from multiple angles. They used audio from a different camera angle and synced it with this video clip. Most drones are not capable of recording audio because the sound from the propellers would ruin the audio anyways.

The audio came from this video filmed by a camera mounted on a buoy in the water.

It has nothing to do with weight or if it was designed to float or not. There are tons of things in the world that are capable of floating but the designers had zero intention of their item even touching the water.

It all comes down to buoyancy and the displacement of the water that allows things to float.

The light weight materials are more from a fuel efficiency standpoint than a “this thing can’t fly if it’s too heavy” standpoint.

The harder the engines on the aircraft has to work to carry its own weight, the faster it’s going to burn fuel. Making your aircraft light helps it burn less fuel overtime.

Custom built drones put the cameras on top a vast majority of the time.

SpaceX isn’t using an off-the-shelf drone to capture their footage. They build out everything custom for their needs.

It’s easier to mount the camera on top of a drone when you want to use something larger than the tiny cameras that come pre installed on most camera drones.

I can tell you immediately went straight to commenting and did zero research on anything related to drones before pushing Post 😂
