I learned last night that my maternal grandmother, whom I spent a great deal of my childhood with, had just passed away.

The one whose whimsical view of the world made our lives feel magical and less mundane. The one who never gave up on anybody, even when all others lost hope.

@q00zan She was like a bright light in the middle of darkness for a lot of people in the family. I still can't fathom it all.

I will miss my grandmother dearly. I know she lived a long and fruitful life. She was surrounded by those who loved her 'til the very end.

I won't be available for some time. I will be helping others in the family with the grieving. My time for a while will be dedicated to that.

She's the reason for my spirituality. The woman who taught me how to read palms and dreams, to always find wonder in every corner, to be selfless and strong. Whenever I would have fears of death, I would think back to her predictions for my life, and those fears would dissipate.
