On this day (Feb. 19) in 1878, Thomas Edison patents the phonograph. About 100 years later, Montgomery Ward produces this cabinet version - which you can see on display at The Sherman Museum.
Just a few hours until "Break the Bank" as we transport you back to the late 1940s with our new exhibit: Evolution of Consumer Entertainment through the 20th Century. Dino Days may be over for this year, but the museum is still open Wed.-Sat. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Sherman Museum's first Dino Academy session of 2022 was Tuesday and we all had a blast. There are still some spots available for the future sessions.

Dino Days officially starts Wednesday, June 1. So come out and See Dromeosaurus and his dino buddies. Also this year we have a few Ice Age creatures to learn about. The exhibit will be up until Aug. 20.
We know Spring Break is supposed to be a break from learning, but if you come to The Sherman Museum you can see this school desk from St. Joseph's Academy. The school was started in Sherman in 1870 and lasted until 1966 - the desk is from around 1881.
Right now at the Sherman Museum we have these Kidd-Key pillow shams circa 1920s on display along with other memorabilia from Shermanโs academic past. Come see the rest of the Athens of Texas exhibit from 10-4 Wednesday through Saturday!
