I might write a 100% fictional novel about a postmodern parallel universe on the transition period of a world on an alternate timeline on the brink of all out global war into a near-Utopian society almost overnight involving:
- all sectors of every economy utilizing modern telecom/networking/crypto tech to gradually switch over from legacy payment systems to cypherpunk-enabled free markets.
- Vendors do double/triple accounting to evade taxmen
- Legacy POS for show, QR codes for real payments
- Mixing pools, privacy coins, whitelists to ensure proper vendor opt-outs
- Non-violent shadow revolution via voluntary non-compliance protected by everyone against all govts & tax authorities worldwide.
- Nat’l govts eventually become irrelevant as local communities band together for geopolitical & socioeconomic security.
- Producers in the new cypherpunk economy have all the power and use it for ongoing info warfare to prevent all future attempts of reviving old govt models.
- Old pravda psyop networks become flaccid as societies move to open source, decentralized, trustless, zero-proof tech platforms that financially incentivizes whitehats doxxing agents/elements of any deep state or false flag ops & to make constant security improvements to all cyphercratic financial/govt systems.
- Militaries go full privatized, make more money and get more localized to prevent constant foreign interference.
- Legacy banks go under, those that aid the new economy flourish.
- New world brought up and supported by cypherpunks. Everyone either is an active participant or dead weight; the latter gradually fade out encouraging all citizens to pay constant attention preventing relapse into old systems of unchecked fraud & corruption.

Imagine every window in a skyscraper quietly generating power all day, and the glass still looks exactly like glass. No dark panels, no tint, nothing you would ever notice.

That is the promise behind transparent solar cells developed by researchers in South Korea. The trick lies in what these windows choose to absorb. Instead of grabbing the visible light your eyes rely on, the panels are tuned to soak up the invisible parts of sunlight, mainly ultraviolet, while letting visible light pass straight through. You still see clearly out the window. The energy you cannot see gets converted into electricity.

The clever part is the material combination. By pairing titanium dioxide, which absorbs ultraviolet light, with nickel oxide, which stays highly transparent, the team built a cell that harvests energy without turning the glass dark or distorting its color. Both semiconductors are non toxic and environmentally friendly, which matters if this is ever going to blanket a city.

Here is the honest limit, and it is worth knowing. Because these panels only feed on a sliver of the sunlight spectrum, they produce far less power per square foot than the black rooftop panels you already know. Fully transparent versions have historically hovered around one to five percent efficiency, though newer designs are pushing higher. This is not going to replace a solar farm.

But that misses where it shines. A skyscraper has very little roof and enormous walls of glass. Turn all that unused surface into a gentle, steady power source and the math starts working. Some newer versions can even sip energy from indoor lighting at night.

The dream is a building that partly powers itself through the windows it already has.

Expect corporate behavior like this to get worse

This guy bought Samsung’s 990 Pro 4 TB SSD when it was ~$330 and now Samsung REFUSES to replace it as the SSD now costs ~$950 due to the AI boom.

The SSD came with a 5-year warranty but started malfunctioning after just one year.

He sent Samsung evidence showing the drive was malfunctioning. Samsung rejected his claim, said it was working fine, and mailed it back to him.

When asked for a replacement, Samsung said the SSD was “out of stock” and couldn’t be replaced, offering only a refund of the original ~$330 purchase price.

The problem? The same SSD is currently IN STOCK and selling for around $950, so the refund wouldn’t even buy a replacement.

He’s now taking legal action against Samsung.

At this point, replacing the SSD would’ve probably been cheaper for Samsung than fighting the lawsuit. 😭

Una lonchera de $1,499 superando a una tarjeta gráfica discreta de $1,000 en una carga de trabajo real de IA. Nvidia pasó una década convenciendo al mundo de que necesitabas su hardware para IA seria. AMD acaba de poner eso en un escritorio por la mitad del precio.

A retired airline captain named John Hoyte @JohnHoytePilot reached out to me recently. He flew commercially for nearly 30 years. He developed serious neurological damage mid-career. Lost his career. Then spent the next 20 years trying to warn the public about what happened to him.

What he shared with me should concern every single person who has ever sat on a plane.

Did you know the air inside most commercial aircraft does not come from outside?

It is compressed directly from the jet engines and pumped straight into the cabin. That is the air you and your family breathe for the entire flight.

When engine seals wear down, oil and hydraulic fluid leak into that air supply. Those fluids contain organophosphates. The same compounds found in nerve agents and certain pesticides. You inhale them without knowing. Without any warning.

In 2007, 27 pilots, cabin crew, passengers, doctors and scientists gave evidence to @UKParliament on this. On the record. Calling for urgent action.

Nothing changed.

@BBCPanorama covered it in 2008. A UK coroner recorded a death linked to contaminated cabin air in 2015. Twenty passengers on a single flight in 2007 were seriously injured. Their cases went to court. They won.

France has formally recognised aerotoxic syndrome as an occupational disease. America's largest personal injury firm is now taking mass cases. A US law professor is suing Boeing for $40 million after a single exposure left him permanently injured.

Almost every commercial jet except the Boeing 787 Dreamliner uses this system. The 787 was designed differently. A safer option always existed. The rest of the industry chose not to use it.

John founded the Aerotoxic Association in 2007 at the Houses of Parliament. He is 70 years old. He has been fighting this for two decades. Over 2,500 people have contacted him believing they were harmed.

He is still looking for a mainstream journalist willing to investigate this properly. That alone tells you everything about how buried this story has been.
