A5:Mask mandates, social distancing, sanitizing & smaller class sizes have helped to feel more comfortable in the school. These practices should also aid in stopping the spread of the flu. Patience & resiliency have been key in adapting to the new normal. #middlematters
A4: I constantly receive referrals on kids who are feeling anxiety & depression during these times. I help teach coping strategies to some and refer others to outside therapists. I check-in with my students and their parents weekly to maintain relationships. #middlematters
A3: I have observed other counselors using Teletherapy and I am excited about trying it out. This can be a great resource for our students. Students are matched with therapists who specialize in certain areas...and they can receive services at school. #middlematters
A2: Since there is only one Counselor at my school, I have spoken with other counselors about having counseling sessions and parent meetings through Google Meets and I believe this has helped with time management. #middlematters
A1: To excite a group of scholars in a group setting, I use a popular song/music as an ice-break and then ask a thought provoking question that relates to their life and the song to get everyone involved in the conversation - there are no right or wrong answers. #middlematters
