Afghan officials say at least nine women and children were killed and 11 people wounded by Pakistani air attacks late Wednesday, destroying three homes in Kunar and Helmand. Pakistan says its targets were armed fighters.

Afghans we have a choice, choose better so we can change the destiny of our nation and future generations.
Decisions in Pindi. Funerals in Kunar.
A man, a woman and a girl killed. Four others wounded. UNAMA has confirmed the civilian toll of apparent airstrikes in Kunar on 21 September. More than 1,100 civilians have been killed or injured by cross-border violence in Afghanistan this year.
GHQ in Rawalpindi must answer for strikes that kill innocent Afghans. Calling an operation “counterterrorism” does not excuse civilian deaths.
Pakistan’s military is pushing our region towards another conflict. Afghan families, exhausted by decades of war, are paying the price.
How many more graves before restraint replaces retaliation?

Today marks exactly 5 years since schools were closed for Afghan girls. A generation of girls have missed their entire secondary education. #Afghanistan remains the only country blocking half its population from high school and beyond. This is having a huge impact not only on girls, including on their mental health, but on the present and future of the country. It is not only unacceptable; it is outrageous and possibly a crime against humanity. Open the doors with a comprehensive curriculum. Normalizing a regime that systematically persecutes women & girls is unacceptable. We must stand with Afghan girls.
More than 2.6 million girls in Afghanistan have been denied a secondary education in the five years since the de facto authorities took power.
UNICEF calls on the de facto authorities to lift the restrictions on education and allow all girls and women to return to schools and universities immediately.
Before we left a secret school in Afghanistan, 21 girls who risk being arrested by the Taliban for continuing their education handed @ImtiazTyab handwritten letters addressed to the rest of the world. These girls may not be able to speak freely to the world themselves. But they trusted us to carry their words beyond that basement — and we promised them we would.

“If you brought us here and gave us seats, let us finish our degrees.”
Afghan students say they were legally admitted and funded to study in Pakistan, but now face being sent home mid-degree.

Since 1947, Pak security establishment has largely reproduced the colonial strategic logic toward Afghanistan. seeking influence through coercion, proxies, and strategic depth. Decades of failure suggest the problem lies nt only in execution, bt in the underlying paradigm itself.
@SkyYaldaHakim Parasto, standing with you and your education network would be an honour. I want to do more than speak from behind a screen. I want to contribute, however I can, to our Afghan sisters’ future. Perhaps then my conscience can find some peace.
@SkyYaldaHakim Yalda, for the last 13 months in Kabul, i have watched helplessly as the rights of Afghan women and girls are stripped away. All we can do is raise our voices on social media, while the pain and anger burn inside us every day.
@SkyYaldaHakim Parasto Hakim has turned that darkness into a light of education and hope. Yalda, doesn’t she deserve a Nobel Peace Prize nomination? Parasto, you are a source of courage and hope for Afghan girls and an example to the world. #NoblePeacePrice
When a girl enters a secret classroom with a shattered spirit and leaves with a sense of possibility, that is more than edu. it is an act of resistance. Parasto Hakim is defending the right of Afghan girls to imagine a future. A well deserve Noble Peace price Nominee. #Kabul
"Afghan girls come to these secret schools with their souls shattered... They dream of becoming somebody someday."
Parasto Hakim, who set up a network of secret schools across Afghanistan, says it is a "very shameful moment for the world watching and doing nothing" for Afghan women and girls.

Heartbreaking on every level. Politics & ignorance have shattered 20 dreams. King Edward Medical College Lahore expelled 20 Afghan students, including 7 in their final year. Years of sacrifice, sleepless nights and dreams destroyed overnight. The world must speak up to stop this.
In an interview with the first journalist the Taliban has allowed to visit him in the past three years, Afghanistan’s first elected leader discusses the US-Iran conflict, his fight for female education — and why he chose to stay after the Taliban takeover: https://t.co/NL5OMGM9fi
Had a productive meeting with H.E. Mr Hamid Karzai.
We discussed Afghan girls education, economic development, Afghanistan’s international relations, and ties with Pakistan. A valuable exchange on advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development. #Kabul
