@absoluteradio can you please ask your newsreader to stop saying Hill Sixteen fell at the first HURDLE in the Grand National? If you're going to cover it as a news item, do your homework. It's the world's greatest STEEPLECHASE, not hurdle race.
I enjoy looking back at my insomnia-driven Google searches during the night.
I've just found the following from last night:
"Can crocodiles survive in the UK?"
Took this photo last night before the first race. I have absolutely no idea how I got to the point where I'm capturing the memories on camera for people or conducting post-race interviews with winning connections.
I love it, but seriously how did this happen?!

Failed to notice John's gran had been in my house 'tidying' (read: moving things so I can't find them) at the weekend and had left the landing blind open. Pretty sure my next door neighbour saw me topless this morning π€¦ββοΈ
Started today on the right foot. Got up and John says 'ooft, you look like that girl I saw at Asda yesterday'.
Not helpful John, I wasn't there, I don't get the reference.
'Expand'.
'Some bombscare approached me and asked if I had a lighter. Man she was rough'.
Thank you.
It's been a while but sitting in my car having just pulled up in front of the house is a thing again. Wonder how long I can stay here until someone wants something done.
The blog is back for 2021
No promises that it will be updated regularly but it felt good to write about how I've been feeling, and how much I'm looking forward to the forthcoming season.

Totally negated the Slimfast milkshake I had for lunch when I found two squares of rocky road that I'd forgotten about (ha, that never happens to me, that's when you know it was a good weekend). Ate them.
The fat person within me is a monster and I can't control her.
Monday morning moan:
It's conformation, not confirmation.
It's ex-racer, not ex-pacer.
And my new favourite - it's REIN not REIGN.
Ruins my enjoyment of a mediocre debate when both parties are using the same incorrect spelling π€¦ββοΈ
Access all areas. That's what I get on race days and it's also what I get during the weeks and months leading up to the race season because harness racing people are the most welcoming in the world.
π· Ayr Empress & @Honeiljnr this morning after training.
My co-trainer was watching me muck out a stable this morning and then he said 'this is your therapy, isn't it?' and finally he gets it. It isn't my mild OCD that makes me want to be the one to clean stables, it's the repetitive, methodical task which requires no thinking.
