I have just been to one of my all time top concerts! Wigan Youth Brass Band are simply amazing! One of my superstar year 10’s was in it and she was fantastic! The majority of the band were children, they are outstanding musicians already and should be so proud of tonight. 👍😀

Fantastic night at SJR college. The greater Manchester police band were amazing. Great musicians and fabulous singers! We all had a brilliant time!

Just a reminder that year 11 have their 8 listening test homework due in their first lesson back. Year 10 have their Haydn homework due their first lesson back. There will be a few questions in class which they will be able to answer if they have listened to it! 🎼🎹🎻

The music department has bought brand new 4 alto saxophones, 2 flutes and a clarinet. 3 of the saxophones had their first outing today. 2 amazing year 10 boys and a fantastic year 7 girl had their first lesson at break today. Great effort and progress made. Well done!

Just a reminder to the amazing year 11 musicians that their performance exams are tomorrow. Arrive calm, prepared and give %100 and you will be great. Good luck. Mr B.

Great news from the music department, our new instruments have arrived. We now have an additional 4 alto saxophones, 2 flutes and a clarinet! Year 7 and 8 will be given priority if they are interested! Thanks The Music Cellar in Preston! Great service as usual. 🎷🎹🎼

Year 11’s have their final recording session on January 28th. It will be for either their solo or ensemble. Any tech performance students will be off timetable all day apart from core subjects. Recordings start at 8:20 and the last finishes at 16:30. Make sure you are prepared!

2 days until the music departments Christmas Show! The Christmas markets are from 5:30-6:30 then once you have done all your Christmas shopping you can sit back, relax and be entertained by our amazing musicians! Show starts at 6:45 and should finish around 8:00. Ho Ho Ho! ☃️❄️

Don’t forget it’s vocal club tomorrow. Only 4 rehearsals left until the 13th December and the big and all new Shevington High School music department Christmas show. Around 20 performances lined up with a good mixture of Christmas and none Christmas songs!
