What changed in 1948?
The Jews stopped being Palestinians.
May 14, 1948. Ben-Gurion reads the Declaration of Independence. The next morning, the residents of the Yishuv wake up as Israelis. The label they'd carried for decades was simply vacated.
The Palestine Post → Jerusalem Post (1950).
Palestine Symphony Orchestra → Israel Philharmonic.
Palestine Electric Company → Israel Electric Corporation.
Anglo-Palestine Bank → Bank Leumi le-Israel.
Palestine pound → Israeli lira.
Jewish Agency for Palestine → just the Jewish Agency.
"Palestinian" passports → Israeli ones.
Within 24 months, "Palestinian" had been stripped off every Jewish institution that had worn it.
Now the Arab side. Arabs did not rush to claim the empty label in 1948. They didn't claim it for another generation.
In 1948, the Arabs who fled or remained still called themselves Arabs. The Arab League's war wasn't fought in the name of "Palestine" as a nation. It was fought to prevent partition and absorb the territory into existing Arab states. Transjordan took the West Bank and East Jerusalem and in 1950 simply annexed them; the residents became Jordanian citizens with Jordanian passports. Egypt took Gaza and ran it under military administration. No citizenship, no nation, no "Palestine."
The one institutional use of "Palestinian" that survived 1948 was a refugee category: UNRWA, created December 1949, defined "Palestine refugees" as a humanitarian classification. Not a nationality. It kept the word alive in international bureaucratic language while the Arab world itself wasn't using it nationally.
Then came the long appropriation.
1964. Nasser sponsors the founding of the PLO in Cairo. The original charter (Article 24) explicitly disclaims any sovereignty over the West Bank, Gaza, or the Himmah area. Read that again. The founding document of the Palestine Liberation Organization renounces claims to the West Bank and Gaza. Because in 1964, those were Arab lands belonging to Jordan and Egypt.
The PLO's purpose was to liberate the part Israel held, not those parts.
1967. Israel takes the West Bank and Gaza in six days. Suddenly Jordan and Egypt no longer hold the territory, and the Arab residents there are no longer Jordanians or under Egyptian rule. The pan-Arab framework had just been humiliated on the battlefield. A new identity was needed.
1968. The PLO charter is rewritten. Article 24's disclaimer disappears. The West Bank and Gaza are now central to Palestinian national claims. The label has been fully transferred.
Sequence:
1917–1948: "Palestinian" = Jewish institutions and self-identification; Arabs reject the term and call themselves Arabs / Southern Syrians.
1948: Jews drop the label and become Israelis. The word goes dormant on the Arab side, surviving mainly as a UN refugee category.
1948–1967: Arabs in the West Bank are Jordanians. Arabs in Gaza are stateless subjects of Egyptian military rule. "Palestinian" is not yet a national identity.
1964–1968: The PLO transitions the label into a national identity but only after 1967 makes pan-Arabism politically untenable.
1948 didn't create a Palestinian Arab nation. It vacated a Jewish label and left a 20-year identity gap that Arab nationalism took until 1968 to fill.
🚨 L’APARTHEID PALESTINIEN
Bill Maher's New Rule monologue is rarely more on point than this
Maher discusses the rise in antisemitism between Far Left and what @SteveDeaceShow calls the Halal Right
'Israel was founded on the idea that antisemitism made a Jewish state a necessity because Jews would never be safe without one, can you honestly not listen to this rhetoric (of the radical haters recently) and not see how that turned out to be true'
Bravo @billmaher, thank you for calling this out so elequently
Since last night, first responders and all necessary services have been working wherever needed. As of now, at least 83 people have been confirmed injured since midnight. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families and loved ones.
It was a heavy attack – 90 missiles of various types, many of them ballistic missiles – 36 in total. There were 600 drones. Unfortunately, not all of the ballistic missiles were intercepted – the largest number of hits was in Kyiv. Kyiv was the primary target of this Russian attack.
Putin can’t even pronounce the word “hurrah” clearly anymore – slurs and mumbles – yet he is still vanquishing residential buildings with his missiles. Launched three Russian missiles against a water supply facility. Burned down a market. Damaged dozens of residential buildings. Hit several ordinary schools. Launched his “Oreshnik” against Bila Tserkva. They really are unhinged.
It is important that this does not pass without consequences for Russia. Today, everyone in the world who will not stay silent and chooses to help Ukraine is a defender of life. It is critically important to continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine, especially anti-ballistic capabilities.
We are doing our best to achieve peace and protect people – everything. It is important that Ukraine is not alone. Decisions are needed – from the United States, from Europe and others – to make that old “Oreshnik” in Moscow finally utter the word “peace.”
A while ago, I watched the infamous 47-minute video documenting the atrocities of October 7th — the one not made publicly available, to protect the privacy of the victims.
The worst part of this video is not what it displays, but who is displaying it: the perpetrators themselves. Gleefully. Sadistically. Unabashedly. Most of the footage was filmed by Hamas terrorists on their GoPro bodycams, some also by ordinary Gazan civilians on their cellphones.
Even the Nazis tried to cover up their atrocities, but Hamas brags about theirs for the entire world to see. The killers are euphoric throughout the massacre, and their relentless, ecstatic cries of "Allahu Akbar" (punctuated by the occasional "Kill the Jew!") are simply nauseating.
Some images are seared into my memory forever. I will never forget the two boys in their underwear — one with his eye socket hanging out of his face — asking his brother whether he thinks they're going to die, while the Hamas monster who had just thrown a grenade in their saferoom helps himself to a drink from their fridge, taking a casual break from the slaughter.
Neither will I ever forget the terrorists playing football with a severed head. Or the Thai migrant worker whose head is viciously hacked off with a garden hoe — another "Zionist colonizer" getting what he deserved, right?https://t.co/JvfJEtk8LA
Or the throngs of Gazans crowding around pickup trucks loaded with the mutilated corpses of Jewish women, filming and spitting on the bodies. Or the woman in Kibbutz Mefalsim, crouching and begging in vain for mercy.
There is some evidence of sexual violence in the video — the charred corpse of a young woman with her legs splayed and her genitals exposed — but not much. Apparently even Hamas draws a line somewhere: they are not as proud of raping Jewish women as they are of murdering them. Or, more likely, they simply didn't want to embarrass the delicate sensibilities of their legions of useful idiots in the West.
But yes — there was rape. Not "rape" in scare quotes, as the apologists would have it, but sadistic, murderous sexual violence, documented in a new damning new report by The Civil Commission, an independent Israeli women's rights NGO. (video summary here: https://t.co/LTTjiO1s7E)
Across its 180 pages, the report describes "a recurring pattern of rape and gang rape; sexual torture; mutilation; targeted shooting to the face, head and genital area; forced nudity; binding and restraint; genital burning; objects inserted into intimate areas; post-mortem sexual humiliation; and execution during or after sexual assault."
And it was premeditated and organized. The terrorists crossing into Israel carried printed Arabic-to-Hebrew phrasebooks with handy expressions like "take off your pants," "lie down," "spread your legs," and "don't make trouble." I wonder why they expected to need those particular phrases?
I know one thing: no civilized country on earth would tolerate the existence of an organization like Hamas on its border after October 7th. Not one. This includes every self-righteous Westerner currently lecturing Israel from thousands of kilometres away, without an inch of skin in the game.

This short video from Italy tells you everything you need to know about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and about the anti Israel protesters around the world

Sus notas;
Testimony from Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan - the man who was in the room with Yasser Arafat in January 2001, when he rejected the Clinton Parameters (accepted by Israel) for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“I wanted to cry. My heart burned over how the opportunity was lost once again…”
For context: the Parameters were President Bill Clinton’s final and far-reaching proposal for peace. They included a Palestinian state in nearly all of the West Bank and Gaza (with land swaps), a capital in East Jerusalem, and other major concessions. Israel accepted the framework. Bandar had already secured broad Arab support.
Arafat looked Bandar and the Egyptians in the eye and said he would accept… then lied to their faces and withdrew.
Bandar had previously warned Clinton: “If Arafat rejects this, it will not be a mistake - it will be a crime.” After the collapse, Bandar said his “heart burned” over the lost opportunity “perhaps for the last time.”
Arafat rejected peace and a Palestinian state - and chose terrorism and the Second Intifada instead.
This is not ancient history; it reflects the same ideology of hatred that led to October 7 attacks.

In 2004, CNN and Fox News ran segments about “Professors from the Middle East” harassing students who expressed “pro-Israel views” at Columbia University.
20 years later, in a V24 investigation, we filmed several Professors and speakers at Columbia University openly praising Hamas.
In just two decades, vast Qatari funding allowed for the complete infiltration of the American elite universities, and the successful brainwashing of a generation of Americans who hate the West.
