WHAT IS THE ROLE OF SONNY TRILLANES?

I understand the perception of my co-host and good friend Atty. Jimmy Bondoc but for the record, Senator Sonny Trillanes was not there in the Senate to serve the ICC warrant.

Many have already stated that Trillanes was there to satisfy Bato’s past request for Trillanes to make Bato’s day and personally serve the warrant to him.

But to add, Trillanes is not a stranger to the ICC case of Rodrigo Duterte and Bato Dela Rosa.

He was an original complainant in June 2017 – Trillanes filed a complaint against Duterte before the ICC.

And many people might not know but the Rome Statute empowers the ICC to request cooperation from both State Parties and NON-STATE Parties.

I won’t spell it out further than that but the two circumstances above sufficiently justify why Trillanes is invested and has a stake in the implementation of Bato’s arrest.

Lastly, the ICC warrant is NOT A FOREIGN warrant. It is an INTERNATIONAL warrant.

A foreign warrant is something totally alien to our jurisdiction and an exercise of sovereignty by another state.

An international warrant is something we partake in as a member of the community of nations and the President can recognize through his power as the chief architect of foreign policy / relations. It is not an exercise of sovereignty by another state.

🐶 In China, 7 stolen dogs escaped from a butcher’s truck and walked 17 km home led by a corgi!

In Jilin province, seven dogs were stolen for sale at a dog meat market and loaded into a van. But they managed to escape — and what followed looks like a movie.

Instead of scattering, they stayed together: forming a protective circle around an injured German shepherd, while a corgi led the way.

Over two days, they covered about 17 km across roads and fields — and made it back to their owners.

Escape mission: accomplished. 🐾
