Good morning. Long rant.
For the uninitiated, this is what happens when the Government and Courts decide who can use the "Doctor" title India, rather than use logic and reasoning to define medical professional work.
Government of India has allowed all alternative medicine practitioners to use the title of 'Dr.'
The Courts have recently allowed Physiotherapists also to use the title of 'Dr.' when they do not even know how to take a blood sample or check temperature in an infant (nurses know all of these and more - they should also be called doctors then).
This abuse of Dr. title in India, has led to a barrage of quacks (legalized as well as illegal) entering the social media scene as 'doctors.' The public and patients are extremely confused as to who a 'real' doctor is. 'Real' doctors with hard earned degrees are finding it difficult to cope with this 'New India' where healthcare has become nationalistic, communal and post-truth (our way vs. your way) instead of driven by science, evidence, humanism and rationality.
The post below discuss one such incident (out of many that happen every day). The VRK Healthcare has nothing to do with healthcare in reality. The image that you see in the VRK logo is of Mr. Veeramachaneni Ramakrishna, an Indian chartered accountant from Vijayawada and creator of the quack "Veeramachaneni Diet Plan."
On social media he calls himself Dr. VRK - and not one person in the regulatory authority is bothered - not even the so-called regional medical clinical societies in India. Patients flock to him, because all his videos showcase hope and promises, based on zero evidence. No one wants evidence. People are happy with mediocre content, shallow promises and shortcuts.
Take a look the prescription. This is not a what a doctor would prescribe. The coconut oil prescription itself amounts to 87g of saturdated fat a day that can cause a heart attack in the patient which will kill him before the cancer does. The rest of the products are all either benign supplements or propritary Ayurveda and Siddha 'medicines.' And see the cost of the treatment. It is nearly 40,000 Indian rupees ($450 USD).
In my opinion, this fraud chartered accountant turned 'doctor' and his team of quacks would be paying the officials their due. This is why no one will point fingers at him or investigate him. Corruption is rampant everywhere. Doctors are all busy trying to survive and no one wants to take up arms against this quack or such quacks. If anyone does, then the defamation suits will come one-by-one.
What I am trying to say is that, public health, individual lives and upholding of values in medical and healthcare is corrupted and dying, in India. And day-by-day, I am finding it easier to believe that the Indian populace deserve it, rather than fight it to show them the truth.
@Ad_Tel_210168@Somak_Roy It's gained more strength visibly these days, whatever was done post independence is being undone in the past few years, so it's certainly going to take much longer
Christmas celebrations in different parts of India were disrupted by blatant intimidation, vandalism and violence this year.
Incidents reported from UP, MP, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Kerala & Uttarakhand included damage to decorations and even attacks on children singing carols.
India is not for all Indians. India is for upper caste hindi speaking folks. If you are Muslim, Christian, Dalit, Adivasi, from north-east, if you speak Bengali etc etc, then this country doesn't give you equal rights. Earlier there was a pretence, now even that is vanished in the last few years.
@MeruOnX Track him and get a public apology??? Wake up buddy you are living in a country where a video of a man molesting a child in a train fails to get any response from authorities

@theliverdoc I recently met a modern medicine doctor, with a huge practice, whose child was studying BNYS in a govt College, after several failed NEET attempts.
I was aghast and tried to understand the "reason", the person badly needed an "heir" to inherit his practice even if it were a quack
Common causes of hand tremors in a 75-year-old man include essential tremor (most frequent, worsens with movement), Parkinson's disease (often at rest), medication side effects, hyperthyroidism, stroke, low blood sugar, or stress/fatigue. Other factors like caffeine or neurotoxins may contribute. This isn't a diagnosis—consult a doctor for evaluation and tests.
Converting Hindus with rice bags wasn’t enough, now they want to convert Hindu deities
If you have so much itch that your religion becomes like Hinduism, then why not accept Hinduism?
@grok@Tushar_KN@grok is it justified to spin the story that it was done by Christian missionaries? Doesn't it signify the malafide intention of the claimant?
@mshahi0024 That fellow who molested a child in a train is still roaming free in spite of clear video evidence in public domain, so what is the guarantee that any action would be taken in this case
