Hivemind completed its first autonomous multi-platform teaming flight with V-BAT and multiple @DestinusDefence Hornet systems.
V-BAT served as a comms relay between the ground station and the Hornets, while Hivemind coordinated formation and managed in-flight mission updates in real time, no direct control of each platform required. The test shows how platforms with different communication architectures can operate as a single autonomous unit in contested environments.

Shield AI Co-founder and President @brandontseng2 believes it’s critical for the U.S. to stay ahead as AI reshapes modern defense.
He joins @rsafian to discuss autonomous drones, the future of warfare, and what’s at stake as global tensions rise.

V-BAT expands across the Aegean.
The Hellenic Army is growing its existing V-BAT fleet to support ISR and Maritime Domain Awareness operations across the Aegean Sea. We're establishing an Athens office and expanding investment in Greece's defense ecosystem, with plans to bring Hivemind to support the development of sovereign autonomous capabilities.
“V-BAT is exceptionally well-suited for operations in Greece, where forces operate across dispersed islands, remote coastlines, deep valleys, mountain ranges, and complex maritime environments.”– James Lythgoe, regional director of Eastern and Southeast Europe at Shield AI

As @a16z's @PeterL4e once told Shield AI's @brandontseng2, working with the government was a "dumb idea."
Tseng joins @rsafian to discuss his idea that helped build a $12B+ company, the defense tech boom, and the debate over AI in modern warfare.

Every patch tells a story.
Honoring the military tradition of unit patches, each team at Shield AI creates its own patch as a reflection of the people behind the mission, the challenges they overcame, and the outcomes they achieved together.

In 2015, Shield AI was a handful of people and a bold idea with no guarantee it would work.
Co-founder Andrew Reiter, Autonomy System Architect Pete Lommel, and Senior Release and Automation Engineer Frank Bogart were among the first to bet on it anyway. We sat down with all three at our San Diego office to hear what those early days actually looked like.

Announcing the Hivemind Catalyst Trial Program: A faster path to first flight
In our latest blog, Inderraj Singh Grewal, Senior Director of Hivemind Engineering & Global Customer Success, introduces our new Catalyst Trial Program: a three-month, hands-on integration and flight demonstration program to help customers operationalize autonomy on their own unmanned systems faster.
You bring the platform. We bring the end-to-end Hivemind autonomy stack, integration support, and flight testing to accelerate the move from simulation to flight.

Happy 11th, Shield AI!
This past year also marked one year with @garylsteele at the helm. Hivemind piloted 30 vehicle classes, X-BAT made its debut, V-BAT pushed into new theaters, we announced our planned acquisition of Aechelon, and we raised $2 billion at a $12.7 billion valuation. Shield AI is increasingly built for where this market is going.
To our customers, partners, and teammates: thank you for building with us.
For Gary's reflections, see the link in thread.

11 years ago today @rtsengusa and I started @shieldaitech. A month later Andrew Reiter would join as our 3rd cofounder. The mission and vision for the company has remained the same - to protect service members with AI systems, deter conflict, and build a world full of autonomous systems. What I'm most proud of over these 11 years is not the # of employees we've grown to, or the valuation, or revenue generated but the meaningful, life-changing mission impact our products have had for our customers. Thank you to our customers, investors, and Shield AI teammates who have helped build a very special and rare company. Cheers to another 11 years and Happy Birthday Shield AI!
This Memorial Day, our teammates in Texas did the Murph to honor the service members who never came home. Many on our team have worn the uniform themselves, and that shared experience makes this day deeply personal. It was a chance to build resilience together, push through something hard, and take time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Murph: 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1-mile run.

I Had the pleasure of speaking with @brandontseng2 the President and Co-Founder of @shieldaitech while at SOF Week 2026, and he told me a little bit about the Shield AI X-BAT.
Exclusive sit-down with Admiral Bob Harward after the @FoxNews mask controversy - thanks for being a great sport Bob! Turns out Bob is a Frogman - NOT a Lizard Person. 😂😂😂 @shieldaitech
SOF Week. From the show floor to the harbor.
Our team spent the week connecting with special operations leaders, government partners, and customers on how V-BAT delivers ISR and targeting where GPS and comms are jammed, how Hivemind enables intelligent swarming of low-cost unmanned systems, and what X-BAT means for the next era of airpower. Through programs like the @DeptofWar's LUCAS initiative, we're putting AI pilots behind intelligent, affordable mass.
If you saw us in the harbor, drop your pics below.
