If HSM needs to be airlifted to open a 2 km road inside Jowhar, barely 90km from Mogadishu because of AS presence, it raises uncomfortable questions about the social media claims by Damuljadiid & sycophantic supporters. Securing roads, sustaining presence, & protecting movement remain basic tests of political authority.
Instead of projecting strength in Mogadishu or escalating pressure on political rivals, HSM & Damuljadiid would be better served returning to political dialogue & reaching a political framework on the elections. Somalia’s crisis will be settled through negotiation, not displays of force.👇🏾
#Mogadishu is buzzing over this video. 🎥
Prominent Somali journalist Munasar Mohamed just dropped a massive claim: the weapons displayed by police today weren’t seized from the opposition - they were allegedly pulled from government stocks to stage a PR stunt.
The question everyone is asking: If these weapons were truly recovered from illicit holders, why were no suspects displayed alongside them?
What do you think - transparency or theater? 👇
Thanks to #Turkey. Ergodan gave former Somali President Hassan Sheikh few tanks to suppress Somali political stakeholders rejecting Hassan's power usurp. Hassan Sheikh uses tanks on protesting civilians in Mogadishu. Civilians retake their guns exploding tanks.

The Turkish government’s decision to publicly reaffirm support for @HassanSMohamud immediately after the expiration of his constitutional mandate, at a moment when Somalia faces a contested political transition and no agreed electoral framework, sends a deeply troubling political signal.
Somalis have long valued the historic relationship with Türkiye, built on solidarity and mutual respect. That relationship must remain anchored in support for the Somali people, constitutional governance, and inclusive political consensus, not personalized alignment with a single political figure during a fragile and contested transition.
Somalia’s stability cannot be sustained through external endorsement of expired mandates or concentration of power. Durable peace and stability require legitimacy, broad political agreement, accountable institutions, and public trust.
Turkish Ambassador in Mogadishu urges Somali outgoing/former President Hassan Sheikh to cling power by hook and crook. @HassanSMohamud finished his mandate on 15/05/2026 without preparing an agreed electoral mechanism.
So now #Turkey becomes one of contestant of Somali politics.
@GaroweOnline@TheVillaSomalia Haha.... "The outgoing President....."
He left behind a negative legacy of land-gabbing, kleptocracy, embezzelment, bribery and political corruption. Now he is leaving while the country faces a constitutional crises leading political uncertainty.

#Somalia everything is available in the marketplace that even you can buy high-ranking military position from @TheVillaSomalia.

Somalia has no official national army. In January 1991 then Somali PM Omer Arte officially disbanded Somali National Army after widespread allegations that the army committed grave war crimes against civilians in some regions in #Somalia.
@jama_siyad We see Bari region elders streaming into Mogadishu corruption alleys in order to receive a portion of money paid to Hassan Sheikh by Turkey as kickback. Turkey wants to secure oil-digging contracts in #Somalia.
@KenyaPower_Care Please reconnect our power. Bill is cleared 6 hours ago. We paid Reconnection fee. We called the customer care many times and not restoring power.

Insightful and nuanced analysis that rectifies often simplistic narratives by external "pundits" and conflict entrepreneurs/ገናዞ; some with fixed agendas.
It is indeed refreshing to see, these days, profound and objective news analysis and well-researched papers by independent social media outlets - https://t.co/Q51uAA4wU4; https://t.co/512O7pb8z2 etc. - on complex and multi-layered current developments and trends in the Horn of Africa.

@TheVillaSomalia@HassanSMohamud Probably asking Zambian President if he would to invest Zambia his thievery money from Somalia after the end of his term in May 2026.
Some sources find Hassan Sheikh to have became 11th richest man in Africa in mere 4 years.
Somali President @HassanSMohamud turned Somali parliament into Police station where he can intimidate, beat, torture the lawmakers. This is a shame to Somalia and its people. His term ends in three months and wants his term extended by force.

The political crises in Somalia are escalating unnecessarily, which is unfortunate. President @HassanSMohamud seems to be poorly advised, missing the bigger picture as a result. His close circle of advisers appears either ineffective or not utilized wisely. The government, and its leadership, would greatly benefit from hosting dialogue on the 2026 political dispensation in Mogadishu. If these talks were moved outside of Somalia, the government would stand to lose more than any other party involved. I hope the government becomes more tolerant and accommodating than it currently seems.
The opposition also shares the responsibility for the success of the talks and must demonstrate good faith, maturity, and flexibility. The stakes are too high.
“Hassan Sheikh’s Mog gov has no sway over the regions; UAE port deals in Bosaso, Berbera & Kismayo continue unchanged; Israel’s recognition of Somaliland harms unity, yet @HassanSMohamud stays focused on fighting regional admins,” Shillinson on Daljir

War drums are beating in Northern Somalia. Mogadishu's War Minister arrives in Lasanod city to simultaneously attack Puntland and Somaliland regions. Plane-loads of ammunition and cash to destabilise the region were also arrived in the city.

This week Israeli journalists tried to book flights to Hargeisa after Israel’s recognition of the breakaway state of 'Somaliland' , they encountered something unexpected: international carriers required them to first obtain visas from Somalia.

“Neither the future of the Palestinian people nor the territorial sovereignty of Somalia can be used as a bargaining chip…
Unequivocally rejects any steps aimed at advancing this objective, including any attempt by Israel to relocate the Palestinian population from Gaza into Northwestern Somalia…
Will neither accept nor condone the illegal use of any territory, let alone that of a sovereign State which is a Member of the United Nations, to deny the right to self-determination to a people who have been subjected to crimes against humanity for many years…
Rather than contributing genuinely to the commendable international peace efforts in the Middle East through the long-overdue recognition of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State, Israel has instead chosen to project instability into the Horn of Africa, promote division and create new sources of tensions in a region, already facing multidimensional and complex challenges.”
