@No1THFCProgs Remember it well - a Dave Mackay last minute equaliser save our blushes that day in. 4-4 draw. It also completed a hat-trick for Dave - remarkable as he was in his normal left-half berth! A day where we also lost Bill’s Asst Manager, Harry Evans (Father-in-law to John White).
@THFCOnThisDay One of the first of the “G-Men” partnerships up front with Jimmy Cantrell - and supported by the other Jimmys, Seed and Dimmock together with Fanny Walden on the right-wing! Rest well Bert!
@footballconfid1 Kane (113 games) - Lineker (80 games) - Greaves 44 in 56 games!! Love them all - but Jimmy was a complete one-off and I am thankful to have seen much of it at Tottenham!
@peterwoodman67 Off the top of the head, I think it was only 2 or 3 games that season (much like the last) where TH were able to field the same team such was the run of injuries sustained - and in a far bigger squad than of today as well. Must dig out Mr Holland's history book again!
@RodneyMarshall1@trargtweets Absolutely - and programme in "Butterflies" that was one of the funniest of its kind back in the 1970/80's - brilliant writing from Carla Lane as well as performances from Geoffrey and Wendy Craig et al.
@p_thfc European Cup Q/F 2nd leg - and a very cold snowbound evening at the old Lane - but still 55,000 turned up to see the mighty Spurs overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit with a storming 4-1 victory - 2 goals each for Bobby Smith and Dave Mackay. https://t.co/orIL8Me603
Peter - They are both post-match photos. The first one is quite clearly post match if you look at the players mud-stained shirts etc and socks to the ankles etc - However, many I have spoken do not have clear memories of it other than it was to observe the National Anthem prior to the Royal Party departing.
@DeborahMattocks Abusive and Negative people are like dark clouds - once they f**k off then the world is a bright and happy place! Glad you had the courage to take that step! 👍
