@sadlatimer Carla’s experienced a lot of trauma, even her backstory was grim. But to view someone’s journey through a singular lens after 20 years is a disservice to the character. Those traumas might’ve knocked her down but they sharpened her intuition.

@missmollybruton 2). It’s was the fear of repeating her own mother’s mistakes of turning out like her that held her back more so than an aversion to being a mother.

@missmollybruton 5). And with Betsy we’ve seen that dynamic shift and change from mentor, to step parent, to essentially becoming her other mother. This is the first time that I feel like Carla has truly established her own family. Not just one she’s stepping into.
