🚨 GenAI Fights Human Trafficking 🚨
🔊 🌟 Launching our #NewProject!
CONTENT WARNING: Sensitive material
Imagine a world where survivors of human trafficking can share their stories without fear. On July 30, 2024 - World Day Against Trafficking in Persons - this became a reality.
Our groundbreaking campaign uses #GenAI to amplify survivors' voices while protecting identities. @D_ID_'s AI avatars reveal real stories of trafficking in the U.S.
Hear from Courtney, Theresa, Bob & more.
Their experiences will challenge everything you know!
While AI can be misused, we're showing its power against trafficking.

As Israel faces threats from 7 fronts including Iran, the U.S. stands with Israel. Thank you @SpeakerJohnson and @RepJeffries for your bold leadership in passing critical aid for Israel in the House of Representatives.
Thank you @POTUS and U.S. Admin for your unwavering support.
On behalf of the entire Israeli people, I send my deepest thanks and appreciation to the US Congress, @POTUS Biden, to
@SpeakerJohnson and @RepJeffries, and all the American people.
As I conveyed last summer before a joint session of Congress: when the US is strong, Israel is stronger; when Israel is strong, the US is more secure.
The overwhelming bipartisan support for Israel is a striking testament to the fact that Israel has no closer ally than America, and America has no closer ally than Israel.
@unit_co_ is changing.
We've made several important decisions recently:
1. Designing for banks as key customers 🏦
2. Doubling down on direct relationships 🤝
3. Investing more in our bank oversight product 🖥
We have a view that hasn't changed from the beginning: to serve our mission in 20+ years, we need to make sure that our ecosystem operates responsibly and sustainably. What HAS changed is the regulatory attention to partnerships between banks and technology companies. We are taking note ✔
Our ecosystem serves 1,405,807 small businesses, independent workers, and consumers: freight businesses, restaurants, homeowners, property managers, retirees, and healthcare clinics and more. Being here in 20+ years for them - and many others - is a responsibility that we take seriously. I'm incredibly proud of our team and customers - both banks and technology companies - for the work that we continue to do for them.
We’re deepening our commitment to banks 🤝
The last few years have brought robust growth and important learnings for our platform. In this blog post, Unit CEO @itaidamti outlines what we’ve learned, how we operate today, and how we’re evolving.

Ceasefire now? It is evident that #Hamas, in its own callous & destructive way, isn't seeking a rapid end to the horrendous Israeli war on #Gaza that's destroying the Palestinian population there. In so doing, Hamas ironically has sinister common ground with Netanyahu & Company who want to prolong the conflict & don't seem particularly concerned about the hostages' return. Hamas is desperately trying to gain any "achievement" that it can sell its people because it knows that in a Gazan context, its rule and legitimacy are finished. It doesn't matter that its propaganda has fooled many in the Arab or Muslim worlds or folks in the West Bank who haven't endured life with the consequences that a Hamas rule would bring. The group can never recover its former standing in the coastal enclave. While Gazans are furious at Israel for inflicting unspoken death & destruction upon them, Hamas will forever be held in contempt for initiating yet another deadly war that was entirely avoidable.
A 9-year-old video clip is making the rounds of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who sometimes has bursts of brilliance and reasonable commentary, even with all of his faults and weaknesses. In it, he describes the 2014 war between Israel and Hamas and how he asked Egypt's President el-Sisi to put forth a ceasefire initiative early in the conflagration. El-Sisi, who despises Hamas & its ideological mothership, the Muslim Brotherhood, nevertheless came back with a reasonable framework for a ceasefire that restores the previous arrangements between Israel & Hamas agreed upon in 2012. Instead of agreeing to the proposed ceasefire initiative & saving the maximum number of Gazans’ lives, Hamas refused and brought up unreasonable demands such as establishing an airport, a seaport, and the complete lifting of the blockade. These demands were entirely out of the question, especially because Hamas didn’t offer Israel much of anything in return: It didn’t want to renounce violence, agree to a long-term ceasefire, or unify Gaza politically with the West Bank – as in, what moron thinks that Israel would simply grant Hamas all of its wishes without anything in return. Abbas continued that despite efforts to convince Hamas otherwise, the group refused a ceasefire and needlessly kept the war going for 51 days, after which it agreed to an almost identical ceasefire framework that neither lifted the blockade nor allowed for an airport/seaport. This means that in 2014, over 2,200 Gazans died needlessly without any results or a meaningful outcome.
Similarly, Egypt is now proposing a vision to stop the current war. It entails Hamas (& the Palestinian Islamic Jihad) agreeing to relinquish control over Gaza, with guarantees to their members’ safety, and turn control over to a new government led by the Palestinian Authority with international monitoring & support while also releasing all Israeli hostages and beginning negotiations to achieve a two-state solution. The vision deliberately leaves the issue of disarmament somewhat vague. Still, it is understood that Hamas would ultimately need to abandon armed resistance in Gaza. Predictably, Hamas & the PIJ largely refused the vision. The groups keep demanding that Israel completely stop the war before any negotiations take place. While I want the war to end right this second, we know that’s not going to happen, especially with Netanyahu wanting to prolong the conflict to save his collapsing political career.
I share this because it’s not possible to simply put all the focus on Israel and keep calling for a ceasefire without fundamentally understanding what’s at play here. Of course, the priority is to put an immediate end to the horrendous bombardment and the horrific/at times criminal conduct of the IDF in Gaza. But Hamas’s role, actions, decisions, and priorities are inexorably linked to the current war & misery of Palestinians. The eventual cessation of the war will require pressure applied on Hamas to compromise, accept its responsibilities, and pay the necessary price to save what remains of Gaza & Gazans – and to prevent possible forced displacement into Sinai/Egypt (or "voluntary" ethnic cleansing) that’s being touted by Netanyahu & senior Israeli officials.
I urge those who support Palestinian lives/rights and want to see an end to the horror – please understand the terrible role of Hamas in the current disaster and don’t give the group the benefit of the doubt. They deserve to be ruthlessly condemned and strongly pressured to act quickly and stop the needless killing of their people in Gaza; start pairing calls for a ceasefire with demands for the hostages' release & a political change for the people of Gaza. Palestinian political factions and leaders have agency and can make decisions to end the slaughter of their own people. Hamas is not worthy of any direct or tacit support; we must understand their destructive/immoral calculus and unequivocally reject it.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND ANTISEMITIC. They must all resign immediately today.

A Small Yet Significant Step Forward
#Un_Women
The women's body is not a battlefield – this applies to all women!
After nearly two months of intense advocacy, we've achieved a crucial milestone. UN Women has, for the first time, condemned the brutal attacks on Israeli women.
This progress is due to our relentless fight for justice and recognition from international bodies.
Huge thanks to everyone leading this effort, especially @DanielleOfek the founder of #MeTooUnlessUrAJew , @ruthhalperin, @CochavElkayam, @ZerMoran, @sherylsandberg , and many more.
But we need more than words. Immediate action and transparency are crucial from UN Women and other agencies.
Next goal? A fair and unbiased investigation by an international body without a history of bias against Israel.
Justice for the women and children who have suffered is our top priority. We won't rest until it's achieved.
We unequivocally condemn the brutal attacks by Hamas on Israel on 7 October.
We are alarmed by the numerous accounts of gender-based atrocities and sexual violence during those attacks.

Finally.
Another small progress @UN_Women.
I want to thank the thousands of people around the world who supported me and all of us. Especially the amazing @sherylsandberg
We still need to make sure it doesn’t end with a short tweet. Facts and figures must be revealed NOW. Actions must be taken by un women and other agencies.
The next big thing is to ensure that an UNBIASED international body will investigate into the crimes and not the institutions that have already proven themselves to be deeply and structurally biased against Israel.
The many women and children- victims and survivors of the atrocities- deserve justice.
I can assure you, we will not rest until they get it.
