Yesterday, the ICC issued a press release claiming "Fernando moved his head towards Jaiswal. In response, Jaiswal leant in, resulting in their heads making contact."
This is just factually incorrect. Check the vid.

Clarification
A Misleading & false headline carried by the Aruna Newspaper that the previous Government of President @RW_SRILANKA have failed to recover due revenue from the Petroleum Dealers are circulated on social media.
In April 2022 when I assumed duties at the Ministry of Power & Energy, instructions were given to CPC to recover due revenue from lease agreements, rentals and dealer margins from the decisions which were approved by the CPC board in 2006 and not implemented until 2014.
The Ministry instructed CPC in 2022 to recover the revenue that was due from 2014. When CPC started recovering in 2022 the Petroleum Dealers Association prevented CPC the recovery with an interim order against the decision.
After 2 years of legal battles, on the 30th of August 2024 the High Court of Civil Appeals dismissed the order and the appeal and paved the way for CPC to recover lost revenue.
In the meantime CPC appointed a committee to probe the officials who had failed to recover dues over the last 10 years.
The investigation report with the recommendations was handed over to the CPC on the 11th of September 2024.
Accordingly the CPC has taken necessary steps to interdict officials named and steps to file legal action against the rest. Since the interdiction took place during the election period, the approval was required from the election commission to interdict the officials.
It’s now up to the current Government of President @anuradisanayake to follow through with the process and recover the lost revenue and pass down the benefit of the court decision to the consumers.

In this moment of reflection upon the 2024 presidential election, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President @RW_SRILANKA for his leadership during the last two years.
At a time when our nation was facing a monumental crisis, he rose to the challenge and brought about stability to an economy in turmoil. Despite having inherited an empty treasury, an unprecedented shortage of essential goods and a population suffering, he displayed remarkable resilience and took decisive action to halt the economic freefall.
Thanks to his leadership, the recent presidential election was conducted peacefully, with no fuel queues and food shortages, passing down a strong foundation for further progress under the incoming president.
I would like to personally thank His Excellency Ranil Wickramasinghe for his unwavering trust in me, and for granting me the honour of working right by his side over the last four decades. His service to this nation will undoubtedly be remembered and I am glad to have been a part of it, working alongside him.
I wish the new president @anuradisanayake all the best in guiding us through the many hurdles we still face, and I congratulate him on a hard-fought victory. I hope Sri Lanka further develops into a nation of its fullest potential, and I will continue to do all I can to ensure this becomes a reality.
Sincerely,
Sagala Ratnayaka
Hoodwinking. But with constructed layers & dimensions. Why? To desperately differentiate themselves from Ranil.
No change to delivery method. SJB will still use the Aswesuma mechanism implemented by Ranil.
No mentioning of a change to selection method. SJB will still use the extant method implemented by Ranil despite them theorizing an improved targeting system.
The Supreme Court today upheld the expulsion of Ministers @fernandoharin and @nanayakkara77 from the SJB.
While we have had our differences, it is undeniable that these two Ministers have truly prioritised the country’s well-being over their personal or political interests.
They stepped up during the most critical period in our nation’s history and steered our country out of the abyss.
The outcome of their leadership is seen in the data.
Today, our nation is on track to achieve record breaking foreign employment earnings and tourism arrivals.
In 2022, #SriLanka recorded $3.8 billion in remittances and around 720,000 tourists.
By the end of this year, we will have increased our legal remittances by nearly 100% to $7 billion and our tourist arrivals by over 200% to 2.3 million visitors. Our tourism earnings will surpass $5 billion - 5 x more than 2022.
No other country in economic and political turmoil has ever delivered such a remarkable turnaround in such a short time.
The fact that these two Ministers were unwavering in their work for our country, despite having to battle their own party, is highly commendable.
Thank you both for your dedication and service, and for providing the independent leadership that our country sorely needed.
Sri Lanka’s historic ODI victory against India on Wednesday is a fitting tribute for your hard work.
I will always be grateful for your service and selfless courage.
The Supreme Court today gave an order in terms of the law of the country and the constitution of the SJB.
Both @fernandoharin & @nanayakkara77 extended their support to President @RW_UNP at a very critical time of the country. They both put their political careers on the line knowing this outcome in the hour of need.
No one can take away the work both did towards the recovery of the economy and the country. Tourism and Foreign Employment earnings and numbers speaks volumes of their hard work in the last two years.
Before they joined the Government I have had many political battles on different political and policy views and opinions with the both of them. Not many would have put their political careers and their Parliament membership on the line for the country’s national agenda. They put the country before their political party.
Thank you Harin & Manusha 🙏🏾

Today is the Sri Lanka Economic Summit on the theme “How to Bankrupt the Economy”.
Most people still do not understand what happened!
Some even think nothing happened!
Hence the turnaround by @RW_UNP and @CBSL undervalued.
And all we can talk about is cricket!
National Fuel Pass QR System was introduced last year in August as a mechanism to manage the fuel distribution in the country with the limited resources that was available. It brought stability to the social, economic sectors in a very short time. It was not just a management tool but a great platform to collect actual data & analyze market situations to make policy & quick decisions.
After 6.5 million registered customers & vehicles and over 350 million transactions up to the 1st of September, the QR based quota system will not be necessary from the 1st of Sept for fuel purchasing islandwide as cost reflective pricing formula adopted, governments new policy’s, new retail operators to the market has eased the financial requirements for fuel purchasing.
I would like to recognize & appreciate the dedication & services of the Management & officials of Dialog Axiata, Millenium IT ESP, ICTA for developing the system and operating it at no cost to the Government.
Would also like to thank the President & the Cabinet of Ministers for backing the initiative & trusting the system. The Officials of the Ministry of Power & Energy, CPC, LIOC & its dealers for adopting, implementing & monitoring it. CBSL & Sampath Bank for their assistance. Youth Services, Youth Corps, Media, Police, Armed forces & other organizations for educating the public & assisting in registering vehicles. Dept of Motor traffic for allowing access to its system. The general public for supporting the system & adopting it.
The system will be kept to be implemented in the future with advanced technology for data collection & analysis.
