I'm not on here often, but it only seems right to come back to where my ChemEd journey began to spread some good news.
I've finally finished my PhD. It might've taken more than a decade, but I'm finally Dr Evans.
For reference in 2023 I collected the equivalent of 1930 pills, 316g waste.
In 2021 and 2022, I collected approx 1300 pills worth, 300g plastic.
Being #disabled takes up a lot of time & energy.
I normally try to do this annually, but my #recycling drawer was overflowing.
Since 12th feb this year (0.7 of a year) I have accumulated blister packs of 2209 pills, 381g of waste. All will be recycled at @superdrug (provided they still do it.)
@NCT_Buses In case it's helpful. I waited at the bus stop from 16.40 approx. I just missed the previous bus. I called at 17:35-17:40. I was assured that College green CL85 was being serviced but on a delay.
Live displays & the app still show the stops as having the number 1 departing.
@ActiveNottm I'm trying to find out which of your pools are accessible to me. I can't submit a query on your site as it won't recognise my Nottinghamshire LE postcode. Can someone help?
It's that time of year again, pill blisterpacks off to @superdrug to be recycled.
2023 included 181 sheets, approx 1930 individual pills, and 316g of plastic.
(2023 was rough, and I'm still having investigations
Today I #recycled my pill blister packs thanks to the collection points at @superdrug. I've been collecting them for 2 years. Today I recycled 165 separate sheets, made of almost 300g plastic.
Also great reminder of some the work I put in to take care of my #disabled body.
It was an important lesson in advocacy. I don’t think we should make students fix the problems that hurt them. it’s not their job. Their job is school.
@jdibon Having a diagnosis helped me deal with the mental health side of having a chronic illness. It gave the "horrible thing" a name & it felt less like my body being a burden.
Tomorrow should be my PhD viva. I have had to postpone it because J have been tachycardic for over 4 weeks.
I am devastated and exhausted.

60% of people who died during #COVID19 pandemic WERE DISABLED
I was at #CovidInquiry
A note apparently from a meeting between Boris Johnson & Sunak in March 2020 has written upon it:
“Why are we destroying the economy for people who are going to die anyway? “
I’m speechless
@L0Usilver Good tip Lou! I've got some bookmarked somewhere & always forget!
I've somehow got a cough on top of whatever is going on so I'll have to go steady or I might die of irony.
Anyone got tips for managing heart rate? Had #tachycardia for (at least) 3 weeks. HR peak 172 stood, avg 110 rest.
-signed off work, postponed anything i can
- housework abandoned
- no caffeine
- reduced sugar
- lying down seems to help
- plenty of fluids.
