אחת הערים שנפגעו הכי הרבה, היא כמובן ג׳נובה, בירת המחוז, בה לא הצליחו לפתור את נושא האשפה שגודשת את הרחובות.

בהתאם לכך, בסוף שנת 2022, הוחלט על מסע הרג אינטנסיבי חסר תקדים של חזירי בר בתוך הערים.
