Shirley-Branch Joint Venture, in conjunction with McLean Contracting Company and other trade partners, achieved a major project milestone: successfully shifting I-64 EB traffic from the existing westbound Hampton River and Branch Bridges onto the newly constructed EB bridges. 👏

The I-64 Gap Segment A Widening project completed the final temporary traffic shift on EB I-64 on September 2nd, 2026.  This milestone shifted traffic onto the recently completed median lanes. It allows the final stage of work to reconstruct the outside shoulders for 11 miles.

Yesterday, the Fairfax County Parkway Southern Segment Project team opened the 3rd lane on northbound Route 123 between Chapel Road and Fairfax County Parkway, achieving completion of the Project's Unique Milestone #2 four days early. Congrats to the team for a job well done!

Major traffic shift on the Route 1 and I-95 Improvements at Exit 126 Project in Fredericksburg, VA. The traffic shift for this major milestone was successfully completed the night of August 17, 2026, and the project is on schedule for Substantial Completion in June 2027.

At the Western Area Infrastructure Improvements Design-Build Project in Chesterfield County, Shirley crews opened the North-South Collector Road "John Thomas Way" to traffic on Friday, August 7, 2026. The team celebrated with a cookout on August 14. @ChesterfieldVa

A Groundbreaking Ceremony to kickoff construction on the Devlin Road Widening project was held April 24, 2026, w/officials from Prince William County, #VDOT, #NVTA, Rinker Design Associates, LLC, & Shirley. The project widens Devlin Road from 2-lanes undivided to 4-lanes divided.

On May 1st, a Groundbreaking Ceremony was held for the Route 7 & 690 Interchange Project to signify the project's official kickoff. Representatives from Loudoun County, Shirley, Dewberry, other local officials, and the general public were in attendance.
