Today we opened the Hanging Gardens of Babylon Park in Ankawa district. Ankawa has always been a symbol of coexistence, and we hope this park will become a place for everyone to enjoy time together.

I am happy to see our homeland developing day by day. Together, we will try to create a more prosperous Kurdistan for our people and our visitors.

I am proud to lay the foundation stone for the Barzani Grand Mosque in Erbil. The mosque will be built entirely by local expertise and workforce, and it will become the largest landmark of its kind at two million square meters.

Throughout Kurdistan’s history, mosques have served as centers of learning and leadership. We hope this mosque will also become a major center for faith, spiritual enlightenment, knowledge, and service to the homeland.

A pleasure meeting U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Tom Barrack again today to discuss the longstanding Kurdistan-U.S. partnership.

I expressed my gratitude for continued American support and President Trump's friendship with our nation. We agreed to continue to advance trade and energy investment, and to support the new federal government to serve all Iraqis equally and on the basis of the Constitution.

We stressed the urgency of reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and forming a new KRG cabinet to move past the current political stalemate.

I am pleased to meet with President @RTErdogan at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. We emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Türkiye and the Kurdistan Region.

We also discussed efforts to form a new federal cabinet. We both hoped that the new federal cabinet will promote peace and stability in Iraq, serve all communities without discrimination, and resolve issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on the basis of the Constitution.

On the peace process and the disarmament of the PKK, I reiterated my support for the process, and we stressed the importance of continuing the efforts to ensure its success and completion.

I spoke by telephone with my brother HH Sheikh @ABZayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, about bilateral relations and developments in the region.

We condemned the recent attacks on the UAE and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region and ending these attacks.

Over 85% of the Kurdistan Region now enjoys access to 24-hour electricity through the KRG’s Runaki initiative.

We’ve come a long way since the first neighbourhood in Erbil switched in July 2024.

This month alone, we switched over a million people — bringing the total to more than 5.5 million.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani has promised reliable 24-hour electricity to every home and business by the end of 2026 — and it’s ahead of schedule.

In the process, we’ve turned off nearly 6,000 noisy, costly, polluting diesel neighbourhoods generators. That’s the equivalent of taking over a million cars off the road. Our neighbourhoods are cleaner, safer and quieter as a result.

The new progress tariffs continue to protect the vulnerable households. In fact, nearly 80% of customers are paying less than they did under diesel generators.

Today we recall our commitment to defending the freedom of the press and journalism and facilitating the work of journalists in Kurdistan.

The Anfal genocide campaign was among the most brutal ethnic cleansing and genocide operations carried out by the former Iraqi regime against the people of Kurdistan. The Anfal genocide resulted in the disappearance and martyrdom of thousands of innocent people of Kurdistan and the destruction of thousands of Kurdish villages and rural communities.

The genocide and the massacres committed against the people of Kurdistan must always remain in our memory, and our future generations must know that the achievements we have today were not gained easily, nor were they granted by anyone, but are the fruits of the struggle and the blood of thousands of Kurdistani martyrs.

On this occasion, we reaffirm that the Iraqi government must fulfill its moral and constitutional responsibility and provide proper reparations to the families of Kurdistan’s martyrs and victims of the Anfal genocide.

On the 38th anniversary of Anfal, we pay tribute to the victims and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.

I hope the ceasefire between the United States and Iran will hold, paving the way for lasting stability and peace in the region.

I thank all those who stood by us and helped to protect the Kurdistan Region. The attacks on Kurdistan were never justified. I hope all attacks on civilians, the Peshmerga, critical infrastructure and diplomatic missions will now end.

The Kurdistan Region is ready to support efforts that preserve de-escalation and build on this momentum toward lasting peace across the region.
